Hotel La Compañía del Valle in Valle de Anton, Panama, is scheduled to open for guests on February 12, 2025. This unique property will join Hyatt’s Unbound Collection and provide a luxury stay for guests in the Central American country.

Let’s take a look.

La Compañía Brand Expanding in Panama

Billed as a “luxe mountain resort,” Hotel La Compañía del Valle will have 70 guest rooms and suites. All rooms will have private balconies or terraces, some offering mountain views. The hotel will double as an art and wellness space, featuring art pieces and 18,000 square feet of spa offerings.

Amenities include concierge services, an activity center, a pool, a spa, 3 dining outlets, and 3 indoor meeting spaces. Guests can also participate in off-site activities such as horseback riding and hiking, given the town’s location approximately 2,000 feet above sea level.

This is the second Hotel La Compañia property to open in Panama. The Category 5 Hotel La Compañía in Casco Antiguo is 50 miles away. Both hotels are part of The Unbound Collection by Hyatt, a collection of 3 dozen boutique hotels worldwide.

Bottom Line:

Hyatt doesn’t have a massive presence in Panama, but that is changing. In addition to Hotel La Compañía del Valle, the chain plans to open a Hyatt Regency in Panama City in May 2025.

Hotel La Compañía del Valle will officially open for guests in February 2025. The hotel will participate in the World of Hyatt loyalty program, allowing guests to earn and redeem points.

Like its sister property, the hotel is a Category 5 property, which means awards start at 17,000 points per night during off-peak dates and up to 23,000 points per night on peak dates. (Hyatt is one of the last programs to use an award chart, though it has adopted peak and off-peak pricing.)

World of Hyatt points can be earned by transferring Chase Ultimate Rewards or Bilt Rewards points to the program at a 1:1 ratio. Hyatt also has 2 co-branded credit cards — 1 personal and 1 business — offering big welcome bonuses and entry-level Discoverist status.

Final Thoughts

This is exciting news, especially as Hyatt doesn’t have a massive footprint in Panama. Guests will soon have a high-end option for earning and redeeming Hyatt points at Hotel La Compañía del Valle. Even better, the hotel falls on the lower end of Hyatt’s award chart, in some instances costing just 17,000 points per night for what looks like an excellent property.
