It was yet another exciting week in the hotel world. A handful of new properties have opened or are being announced worldwide.

Read below for our round-up of the most exciting hotel news you might have missed this week.

Hotel Openings

Casa Brera, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Milan, Italy

Marriott is boosting its presence in Italy with the opening of Casa Brera, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Milan. Located in Milan’s Piazzetta Bossi, Casa Brera offers 101 guest rooms and suites, drawing on Milanese influences throughout its design. The hotel has 4 restaurants, including a fine-dining Italian restaurant and a rooftop bar. Other amenities include event spaces, a gym, and a rooftop pool, which overlooks the neighborhood.

Canal House of Georgetown, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel, Washington, D.C.

Canal House of Georgetown, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel, recently opened in Washington, D.C. The boutique hotel is steps from the 1800s-era Chesapeake & Ohio Canal and is in the heart of the historic Georgetown neighborhood. The hotel offers 92 guest rooms, 10 suites, 3 terrace rooms, and 2 townhouses. Amenities include a restaurant and a fitness center.

Hot Tip:

This hotel can be a more affordable points option than the nearby Ritz-Carlton Georgetown, where award nights average 100,000 Marriott Bonvoy points nightly, regardless of dates. In contrast, award nights at Canal House average around 55,000 points per night.

Hotel Ardent Dayton Downtown, Tapestry Collection by Hilton, Ohio

The 4-star Hotel Ardent Dayton Downtown opened in Dayton, Ohio, with 118 guest rooms and suites. It is located in the Barclay Building, which was constructed in the 1920s and is a National Register of Historic Places site. Amenities include a fitness center with a yoga studio, meeting and event spaces, and an Italian steakhouse opening in April. The hotel is centrally located near Dayton’s cultural attractions, such as the Dayton Art Institute, Victoria Theater, Schuster Performing Arts Center, and the Dayton Convention Center.

Upcoming Hotels

SOUMA Hotel Lima, Peru (March 2025)

SOUMA Hotel Lima is set to become the first Vignette Collection hotel in South America. Operated by Iberostar (which now has a licensing agreement with IHG), the hotel has 214 guest rooms and is located in Lima’s Miraflores neighborhood near the Pacific Ocean. Amenities include 3 dining outlets, a spa, a fitness center, and 4 meeting and event spaces.

DoubleTree by Hilton Belfast City Ten Square (2025)

Hilton has inked a deal for DoubleTree by Hilton Belfast City Ten Square in Northern Ireland. The hotel will offer 131 guest rooms and suites, including a penthouse suite. The hotel will have 4 dining options and a rooftop bar with an outdoor terrace.

Getting around should be easy, as the hotel is an 11-minute drive from George Best Belfast City Airport (BHD) and 30 minutes from Belfast International Airport (BFS). DoubleTree by Hilton Belfast City Ten Square will undergo a multi-million dollar refresh before joining Hilton later this year, but it’s unclear exactly when that will be.

Four Seasons Planning Resort and Residences in Ras Al Khaimah, UAE

A new Four Seasons Resort is coming to the United Arab Emirates. Four Seasons Resort and Residences Ras Al Khaimah at Mina will have 150 rooms, suites, villas, and 130 private residences. The hotel will be a beach resort with the amenities Four Seasons fans have come to love. It will have 10 treatment rooms, a beauty salon, family and adult pools, a fitness center, children’s programming, event spaces, and a dedicated marina for private boat arrivals.

The resort will be located an hour from Dubai International Airport (DXB) and 30 minutes from Ras Al Khaimah International Airport (RKT). Four Seasons will start construction on the resort in early 2026. 

Bottom Line:

Four Seasons already has a massive presence in the UAE, with 4 open hotels and 1 in the pipeline. However, all are in Dubai or Abu Dhabi, whereas this will be the first in Ras Al Khaimah, located in the northern UAE.

Saudi Arabia Getting 2 Park Inn by Radisson Hotels

Radisson Hotels has inked a deal for 2 hotels in Madinah, Saudi Arabia, adding more than 700 rooms to the chain’s portfolio in the country. The 2 Park Inns by Radisson will be located in the Islamic World District (IWD) and Knowledge Economic City. Together, the 2 hotels will have 733 rooms, comprising 587 hotel rooms and 146 serviced apartments.

Final Thoughts

It was yet another busy week around the hotel industry, from a new Marriott hotel opening in D.C.’s swanky Georgetown neighborhood to the first Vignette Collection hotel opening in South America this spring. We’ll return next week with more hotel news!
