The month of January ended on a strong note, with several hotels opening in Los Angeles, Portugal, and Spain. Additionally, some exciting hotel openings are planned in Venice, Riyadh, and Iceland.

Cameo Beverly Hills, LXR Hotels & Resorts, California 

Cameo Beverly Hills, LXR Hotels & Resorts, has reopened after an extensive renovation. Located near the famed Rodeo Drive, the boutique hotel offers 138 guest rooms and suites, each with private balconies.

Amenities include a restaurant, a lobby lounge and bar, a pool with a bar, and a ballroom. Cash rates start at $433 nightly, and awards start at 75,000 Hilton Honors points nightly.

Hyatt Regency Vilamoura Algarve, Portugal

Hyatt Regency Vilamoura Algarve features 257 guest rooms and 21 suites across 6 categories. The hotel is located steps from beaches, golf courses, and more.

Amenities include a restaurant, bar, pool, fitness center, and spa. A Category 3 World of Hyatt hotel, award rates start at 9,000 points per night. Cash rates start at $150 nightly.

Radisson Resort & Residences Tenerife, Spain

Radisson Resort & Residences Tenerife, located on the island’s northern coast, features 241 guest rooms and residences. You’ll find a restaurant, pool bar, cocktail bar, spa, fitness center, and more.

W Riyadh – KAFD, Saudi Arabia (May 2026)

W Riyadh – KAFD offers 210 guest rooms, including 17 suites, 2 penthouses, and the W Penthouse. Amenities include 6 dining options, a spa, a fitness center, and a pool. You can expect to pay $420 or 43,000 Marriott Bonvoy points nightly.

Danieli, a Four Seasons Hotel, Venice, Italy (August 2026)

Danieli, a Four Seasons Hotel, Venice, is gearing up for an August opening after leaving Marriott. The hotel has 120 rooms and suites (with more being added in 2027), a restaurant, a bar, a sauna, and a spa with 3 treatment rooms.

Skald Hotel Akureyri, Curio Collection by Hilton, Iceland (August 2026)

Skald Hotel Akureyri, Curio Collection by Hilton, is scheduled to open on August 1, 2026. The hotel offers 86 rooms (including 15 serviced apartments), 2 rooftop terraces, a restaurant, and a fitness center.

Located in Northern Iceland, the hotel offers convenient access to the Diamond Circle, whale watching in Eyjafjörður, and the Northern Lights.

Ruby Hotel Chicago, Illinois (2027)

IHG will convert the historic Inn of Chicago into a Ruby Hotel, slated to open next year. It will feature 412 guest rooms and reimagined public spaces, including the lobby and bar. Plans also call for a rooftop terrace and bar.

Waldorf Astoria Deer Valley Resort and Residences, Utah (2028)

Waldorf Astoria Deer Valley Resort and Residences will open for guests in 2028. The ski-in, ski-out resort will offer 132 guest rooms and 105 residences. Amenities will include dining outlets, a spa, indoor and outdoor swimming pools, and kids’ programming.

Hilton Adds New Small Luxury Hotels of the World Properties

Hilton added a handful of Small Luxury Hotels of the World (SLH) properties, as flagged by Loyalty Lobby. Here’s a look at the hotels we’re most excited about and how much they’ll cost with points:

Minor Hotels’ First Minor Reserve Collection Property

Minor Hotels inked a deal this week for Aventora Resort Baía Formosa, Minor Reserve Collection, in northeast Brazil. The resort will have 50 guest rooms, several dining options, wellness activities, and kids’ programming.

This will be the first property under the new luxury collection brand, Minor Reserve Collection, and will open in 2028.

Final Thoughts

It was a busy week in the hotel industry, with several hotels opening or reopening after renovation. We were also excited to see positive news, including a Ruby Hotel coming to Chicago and several new SLH properties joining Hilton’s portfolio.
