New St. Regis Opening in Maui in 2027

Marriott is officially managing The Resort at Kapalua Bay, Maui, which will transition to St. Regis next year. The resort features 146 oceanview residences, golf courses, tennis courts, a spa, beach access, and several swimming pools.

The hotel will remain open as it transitions into a St. Regis; however, cash and award rates are unavailable.

Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection Unveils Winter 2027–2028 Season

This week, the Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection rolled out its Winter 2027-2028 itineraries across Asia-Pacific, the Caribbean, and the South Pacific.

The sailings will take place aboard Evrima, Ilma, and Luminara from October 2027 to May 2028 and will include 14 new ports of call. Bookings are now available, with trips starting at $4,100 for a 3-night sailing.

Hot Tip:

Marriott Bonvoy members can earn 5 points per $1 spent on The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection fares and any hotel packages, including participating Marriott locations booked through The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection.

The Chatwal Leaving Hyatt, Joining Minor Hotels

It appears that The Chatwal will leave the World of Hyatt program in early 2027. A press release from Minor Hotels this week announced a “76-room flagship will occupy a 1905 landmark building near Bryant Park” at 130 West 44th Street.

That address is the same as The Chatwal. The new hotel, The Wolseley, will include an eponymously named restaurant, a speakeasy, and wellness amenities. As for The Chatwal, the Category 8 hotel is accepting reservations as late as March 2027.

Final Thoughts

It was another busy week across the hotel industry, including several new hotel openings and reflaggings. There are also some exciting openings on the horizon, including in Maui, Kenya’s Masai Mara, Laos, and Cambodia.

We’ll be back here next week with more hotel industry news.
