This week had more hotel announcements than actual openings, but it was still an exciting week in the hotel industry. A new Ritz-Carlton hotel opened in China, several luxury Hilton hotels are opening in Asia and Europe, plus Hyatt is planning a huge expansion across the United Kingdom.

And that’s not all. Read on for our roundup of the most exciting hotel news you might have missed this week.

Hotel Openings

The Ritz-Carlton, Suzhou, China

The Ritz-Carlton, Suzhou, has opened in Suzhou, China, a city near Shanghai famous for its classical gardens that are listed as a UNESCO Heritage Site. With 190 guest rooms and suites, the hotel, Marriott says, is the “crown jewel of the city’s China Central Place.”

Guests staying in Club Level rooms and suites will have access to the signature Ritz-Carlton Club, which will feature activities such as tea masterclasses. Other amenities include 4 restaurants and bars, children’s programming through Ritz Kids, a a 24-hour fitness center, a pool, meeting spaces, and a grand ballroom.

Hilton’s high-end Waldorf Astoria brand is making its debut in Japan. The Waldorf Astoria Osaka, scheduled to open in April, will have 252 guest rooms and suites. Amenities include 3 restaurants, the famed Waldorf Astoria Spa, a library, a fitness center, and a swimming pool.

Sax Paris, LXR Hotels & Resorts, France (June 2025)

Sax Paris, LXR Hotels & Resorts has made its debut in Paris’ 7th arrondissement. This is the debut of Hilton’s high-end LXR Hotels & Resorts brand in France. The hotel offers 118 guest rooms, a rooftop terrace overlooking the Eiffel Tower, 3 bars and restaurants, a spa, an outdoor pool, and a fitness center.

  • Opening Date: June 15, 2025
  • Typical Cash Price: From $423 per night
  • Typical Points Cost: From 92,000 Hilton Honors points per night

Canopy by Hilton at Deer Valley, Utah (2026)

Canopy by Hilton will debut in Utah next year. The 180-room Canopy by Hilton at Deer Valley will have a handful of amenities dedicated to rest and relaxation. These include a pool, a hot tub, a steam room, a sauna, a fitness center, and even a golf simulator.

Other amenities include an on-site restaurant, an après-ski lounge, a coffee shop, a rooftop lounge, and more. The hotel will be located just 40 minutes from Salt Lake City International Airport (SLC).

Hotel Indigo Menorca, Spain (Summer 2026) 

IHG will bring the Hotel Indigo brand to Spain’s Balearic Islands through the signing of Hotel Indigo Menorca. The 75-room hotel will offer private terraces in every room, along with an on-site restaurant, a bar, and an outdoor pool. The hotel will officially open for guests in the summer of 2026.

InterContinental Barossa Resort & Spa (2028)

When it opens in 2028, the InterContinental Barossa Resort & Spa will have an important distinction: the first luxury-branded hotel in a South Australian wine region.

The resort will have 150 guest rooms and suites, with some rooms offering vineyard views, a restaurant, a lounge bar, an outdoor terrace, a pool, a fitness center, and a spa.

Six Senses Comporta, Portugal (2028)

The ultra-luxe Six Senses brand has big plans for Portugal. Slated to open in 2028, the Six Senses Comporta will feature 70 guest rooms and suites. The resort will feature a restaurant, a pool bar, a wine bar, a gym, a yoga studio, a pool, a spa, and more. This resort, when it opens, will join Six Senses’ impressive European collection, which includes locations such as France, Italy, Switzerland, and others.

Rosewood Plans Expansion Across 3 Continents

The luxe Rosewood brand plans to expand across 3 continents this year. The brand says it will open hotels in Japan, the Netherlands, Qatar, Mexico, the United Kingdom, the U.S., and China. All told, Rosewood says it has more than 30 hotels under development worldwide.

Radisson Hotel Group Inks Deals for 4 New Hotels in Norway

Radisson has signed deals for 4 conversion hotels in Bergen, Norway, comprising a whopping 519 guest rooms in the city. Here’s a sneak peek at each property:

  • Magic Kloverhuset Harbour Hotel, a member of Radisson Individuals: This hotel has 137 guest rooms and 20 apartments. It features a restaurant and a rooftop with a terrace bar and is located next to the famed Strandkaien Street.
  • Magic Hotel Bergen City Center, a member of Radisson Individuals: The hotel has 90 guest rooms. Amenities include a bar and restaurant plus access to shopping, restaurants, and public transportation. 
  • Prize by Radisson, Solheimsviken Bergen: This hotel, which opens later this year, will have 217 guest rooms.
  • Prize by Radisson, Xhibition Bergen City: The hotel will offer 55 guest rooms and is located in the Xhibition shopping center in the heart of Bergen.

Hyatt To Increase U.K. Presence By 30% Through 2026

Hyatt plans to grow its portfolio in the United Kingdom by more than 30% between this year and next, adding 1,000+ rooms across the country. These include the recently-opened Hyatt Place Leeds and Hyatt House Leeds which, between the 2, added over 200 rooms to Hyatt’s portfolio

Hyatt says it plans to grow “sensibly and intentionally” in the United Kingdom. Additionally, the brand sees “great potential” in locations such as Oxford, Cambridge, Liverpool, Newcastle, Glasgow, Cardiff, York, Bath, Dublin and Belfast.

Other upcoming properties include:

  • Hyatt Place London Paddington: Located a 5-minute walk from Paddington train station and 15 minutes from Oxford Street, the hotel will feature 87 rooms, a fitness center, an all-day dining outlet, and a Library for meetings and events. This hotel will be a World of Hyatt Category 4 property, which means award rates fall between 12,000 and 18,000 points per night. Alternatively, you’ll be able to book a stay here using a Hyatt Category 1-4 free night certificate.
  • Hyatt Regency London Olympia: With 204 guest rooms and suites, the hotel will feature a restaurant, an all-day fitness center, meeting spaces, and self-parking. This will be the fifth Hyatt Regency in London. It’s unclear what category this hotel will fall under.
