It was another busy week in the hotel industry, with several high-end hotels in Barbados, Portugal, and Atlanta opening their doors. This week also saw some upcoming properties we’re excited about, including a Six Senses in Mexico and an InterContinental in the Philippines. 

To catch up, here’s our roundup of the most exciting hotel news this week.

New Hotel Openings

Hotel Indigo Bridgetown Barbados, Barbados

IHG’s swanky Hotel Indigo has planted its flag in Barbados. Hotel Indigo Bridgetown Barbados features 132 guest rooms and suites, some with private hot tubs and living areas.

This boutique hotel is small but mighty, with amenities like a rooftop, 3 swimming pools, 6 food and beverage options, a fitness center, and direct beach access. Cash rates start at $312 per night, while award nights start at 56,000 IHG One Rewards points per night.

Masana Algarve, Portugal

Masana Algarve, located in southern Portugal, features just 33 private apartments and villas, all offering views of the garden, pool, or the sea. The resort — part of Destination by Hyatt — features 2 restaurants, a pool, a fitness center, and a spa.

Cash rates start at $1,121 per night. As a Category 6 World of Hyatt hotel, award rates start at 21,000 points per night.

Moxy Atlanta Downtown, Georgia

The 183-room Moxy Atlanta Downtown is the perfect location for a traveler who wants to be close to all Atlanta offers. The hotel is within walking distance of attractions such as Centennial Olympic Park, the Georgia Aquarium, and the World of Coca-Cola Museum.

On site, you’ll find 2 restaurants and bars, a rooftop bar, and a fitness center. You can expect to pay around $179 per night, while rates with Marriott Bonvoy points start at 30,000 points per night.

Hot Tip:

With such low award rates, the Moxy Atlanta Downtown is a fantastic option for using a Marriott free night certificate!

Upcoming Hotels

Six Senses Xala, Mexico (2027)

IHG announced this week that the Six Senses Xala — a new resort in Chalacatepec, Mexico — will open next year. 

Six Senses Xala, located along the Pacific Coast, will offer 51 guest rooms, each with a private pool, plus a handful of branded residences. The resort will feature an indoor gym and fitness amenities, the signature Six Senses Spa, several restaurants, a beach club, and children’s programming. 

Motto by Hilton Sydney City Centre, Australia (2027)

Motto by Hilton Sydney City Centre, set to open in late 2027, will offer 152 guest rooms and suites. Amenities will include several dining options, including a rooftop bar, “locally driven programming,” and central access to attractions such as the Sydney Opera House and the Harbour Bridge.

Mana Island Resort & Spa Fiji, a member of Radisson Individuals, Fiji (2027)

Radisson has inked a deal for Mana Island Resort & Spa Fiji, which will join Radisson Individuals next year. The 160-room resort, located 20 minutes by plane from Nadi, will feature several dining options, bars, swimming pools, a spa, and more.

Conrad Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia (2028)

Hilton is making its debut in Mongolia in a big way: with the signing of a Conrad hotel in Ulaanbaatar. The 227-room Conrad Ulaanbaatar will be located within the Ulaanbaatar Eco Tower and feature 4 dining options, meeting and event space, and an indoor pool and spa.

InterContinental Manila, Philippines (2032)

The InterContinental brand is returning to the Philippines after a 15-year absence with the signing of InterContinental Manila. The 212-room hotel will feature an all-day dining restaurant, a specialty restaurant and bar, a health club and spa, and an outdoor swimming pool and a poolside bar.

Wyndham’s Trademark Collection Hits 100+ U.S. Hotels

More than 100 hotels in the Trademark Collection by Wyndham are now open across the U.S. Wyndham announced that it had doubled the size of its U.S. portfolio in the last 5 years. These include some iconic hotels, such as the MB Hotel in Miami and The Beekman Tower in New York, both of which cost 30,000 Wyndham Rewards points per night. 

Final Thoughts

It was another busy week across the hotel industry. We saw exciting openings in Barbados and Portugal, and there are upcoming hotels in Mexico, Fiji, the Philippines, and Mongolia to get excited about.
