March ended on a strong note in the hotel industry. Several new hotels have recently opened in beach destinations such as Miami and Sydney. There are also many new hotels on the horizon, including a Kimpton in Bali and a Conrad in Athens.

To catch up, here’s our roundup of the most exciting hotel news this week.

New Hotel Openings

UNFRAMED, Autograph Collection, Florida

The swanky UNFRAMED, Autograph Collection, is sure to become one of the most exciting hotels to open in Miami this year. The 149-room hotel features a restaurant, 3 bars, and a rooftop pool. Rates start at $460 or 64,000 Marriott Bonvoy points per night.

InterContinental Sydney Coogee Beach, Australia

InterContinental Sydney Coogee Beach features 198 guest rooms and suites and was formerly the Crowne Plaza Sydney Coogee Beach.

Amenities include a restaurant, an infinity pool, a spa and wellness center, and the signature Club InterContinental lounge. Rates start at $320 or 55,000 IHG One Rewards points per night.

Conrad Athens The Ilisian, Greece (May 2026)

Conrad Athens The Ilisian will open on May 11, 2026, offering 307 guest rooms and suites, some with private pools. The resort will offer a whopping 9 dining options, plus 21,000 square feet of indoor facilities, including a “longevity clinic,” several swimming pools, and a rooftop running track. 

You can expect to pay around $800 per night in cash or 120,000 Hilton Honors points.

Hotel Palacio Bellas Artes San Sebastián, Curio Collection by Hilton, Spain (July 2026)

Palacio Bellas Artes San Sebastian, Curio Collection by Hilton, is gearing up for an opening on July 1, 2026. Located in an early-20th-century Beaux-Arts cinema, the space has been reimagined as a boutique hotel. The hotel now features 81 rooms and suites, a restaurant and lobby bar, and a fitness center. Rates start at $420 per night or 86,000 Hilton Honors points per night.

Kimpton Suntaya Bali Ubud, Indonesia (2027)

IHG is bringing a luxury Kimpton hotel to Bali next year. Kimpton Suntaya Bali Ubud will feature 101 guest rooms and suites, 3 dining options, a café and deli, and wellness amenities such as a gym, spa, and swimming pool. The resort will be located 90 minutes from Ngurah Rai International Airport (DPS).

While it doesn’t open until early 2027, you can book rooms here now, starting at $280 or 49,000 IHG One Rewards points per night.

Hilton Boosts Tapestry Collection Presence in the United Kingdom

The Tapestry Collection by Hilton brand will expand in the United Kingdom next year. Hilton announced that it had inked deals for 2 hotels in Plymouth and Cork, adding over 200 new rooms to the portfolio. Both are scheduled to open in 2027.

New Continental Plymouth, Tapestry Collection by Hilton, will offer 120 guest rooms, plus a fitness center, a restaurant, and a bar. Cork City Centre, Tapestry Collection by Hilton, will offer 103 standard and extended‑stay rooms. Amenities will include a restaurant, a bar, and a fitness space.

Marriott’s New Partnership With Ethiopian Airlines

This week, Marriott announced a new transfer partnership with Ethiopian Airlines ShebaMiles.

You can now convert ShebaMiles miles to Marriott Bonvoy points at a 2:1 ratio, while Marriott Bonvoy members can transfer points to ShebaMiles at a 3:1 ratio. You’ll receive 5,000 ShebaMiles for every 60,000 Marriott Bonvoy points transferred.

New Details on Andaz Turks & Caicos at Grace Bay

We finally know what category the Andaz Turks & Caicos at Grace Bay will fall under: Category 8. That means it will be among the most expensive in the World of Hyatt portfolio when using points. Hyatt’s highest tier requires 35,000 points for off-peak nights, 40,000 points for standard nights, and 45,000 points for peak nights.

The resort will have 59 hotel rooms (plus a handful of branded residences), several pools, multiple dining options, a spa, and direct beach access. However, there are still no details about when the resort will open.

Final Thoughts

The last week of March brought exciting hotel news, including new hotels in Miami and Sydney, a new partnership between Marriott and Ethiopian Airlines, and a slew of openings this year and next.
