Another Furnished Apartment Platform Offers Discounts for Sonder Customers

We reported this week that Sonder by Marriott Bonvoy filed for bankruptcy, a day after Marriott ended its partnership with the company due to “default.” The company’s abrupt shutdown left thousands of travelers scrambling to find new hotels — often with sky-high costs.

Similar companies, like Landing, a collection of furnished apartments across the U.S., have offered discounts to Sonder customers. And now, another company is joining in. AvantStay, a short-term rental operator, will offer 20% off to any impacted guests. To be eligible, simply contact reservations@avantstay.com

Final Thoughts

This was another strong week in the hotel world. A new InterContinental resort has opened in Vietnam, while we have award rates for the Lake Como EDITION (which aren’t that bad). Plus, 2026 is shaping up to be another busy year — a handful of new properties across the world are expected to open.

We’ll be back here next week with more news from across the hotel industry.
