A new luxury hotel on the shores of Lake Como is almost ready to open its doors. You can now book stays at Marriott’s newest EDITION property from September 9, 2025.

Here’s more information about the property and what you can expect to pay in both cash and points.

The Lake Como EDITION Opens in September

As a destination associated with luxury hotels, it’s fitting that an EDITION joins the ranks along the shoreline of Lake Como in northern Italy.

Previously the Britannia Excelsior Hotel, the property has gotten a top-to-bottom renovation and is just about ready to open as the Lake Como EDITION, part of the Marriott Bonvoy family.

The property’s 145 rooms boast the same modern, luxurious style as you’d find in its 20 other hotels worldwide.

The minimalist rooms feature the familiar crisp white bedding, dark wood finishes, and signature faux-fur throw.

Guests staying at the property can enjoy a complimentary breakfast, which is rare for EDITION properties. EDITION is one of a few Marriott brands where even top-tier Bonvoy elite members have to pay for their morning meal.

The property is located across the lake from the famous town of Bellagio, and only about an hour from Milan and its major international airport, making it easy for U.S. travelers to access.

How To Book

Stays at EDITION hotels are typically expensive, and the new Lake Como property is no exception. Rates during its opening month of September range from $1,424 to an eye-popping $1,980 per night.

In March, shoulder season in Lake Como, rates fall significantly to around $700 per night.

Of course, this hotel participates in the Marriott Bonvoy program, which means you can redeem Marriott Bonvoy points for stays.

The lowest nightly rates we found were also in March of next year — though they aren’t cheap either, starting at 191,000 points per night.

Final Thoughts

Lake Como is a perfect location for Marriott to open its 21st EDITION property. It’s a dose of modern luxury in a place largely known for older, ornate properties. And with cash rates approaching $2,000 per night, guests should have high expectations for a flawless luxury stay.
