There’s nothing else like walking into that hotel breakfast buffet and knowing that everything you’re about to eat is complimentary.

Free breakfast is one of the most coveted travel perks, and not just because some hotels have an incredible spread. When you’re traveling around the world, one of the highest and most unavoidable costs is food. And if you’re a value-focused traveler or simply love breakfast, getting it for free can save you money and help you lock in the most important meal of the day.

It’s true that some limited-service hotel brands (particularly extended-stay and lower-end properties) give free breakfast to all their guests, but if you’re looking to have a complimentary breakfast at a full-service or luxury hotel, you probably need elite status or a specific credit card, whether that be a co-branded hotel card or a premium flexible rewards travel card.

If you have the right credit card, you can accelerate the rewards you earn, benefit from card perks, and you may even get elite status benefits that go far beyond complimentary breakfast.

In this guide, we’ll show you our favorite credit cards that offer complimentary breakfast at hotels.

What To Look For in a Credit Card for Complimentary Breakfast at Hotels

The best credit cards for complimentary breakfast make it easy: You get free breakfast just by holding the card and activating your elite status.

These days, though, few cards make it this simple. In some cases, you have to book a stay from a collection of resorts via the credit card issuer’s travel portal in order to get a complimentary breakfast.

These are our favorite personal credit cards for complimentary breakfast at hotels.
