Courtyard by Marriott Torreón

The Courtyard by Marriott Torreón is now open for guests in central Mexico’s Coahuila state. This marks Marriott’s 300th property in the country, and it’s not done growing. The chain expects to welcome new hotels spanning its brand portfolio across the country in the coming years.

Rooms at Courtyard by Marriott Torreón start at $108 or 10,000 Marriott Bonvoy points per night.

Montara Hotel, Tapestry Collection by Hilton

Hilton’s Tapestry Collection brand has debuted in Central America with Montara Hotel, Tapestry Collection by Hilton. The hotel sits north of San Jose and offers 97 rooms and suites, several dining outlets, a spa, a fitness center, an indoor heated pool, and more.

Upcoming Hotels

Delano Puglia

Delano will open a new property in Monopoli, in Italy’s Puglia region, in 2028. The property will boast 76 guest rooms and suites situated along the country’s Adriatic coast. The Puglia property will join Delano properties in Miami Beach, Paris, Dubai, New York, London, and Marrakech, each in various stages of opening or development.

Nobu Hotel and Restaurant San Juan

Slated to open in 2028, Nobu Hotel and Restaurant will be the iconic brand’s first foray into Puerto Rico. The property will feature a Nobu restaurant and bar on the ground floor, along with a rooftop lounge and bar. Not much else is known at this time, but this is certainly a property we’ll be keeping our eyes on.

IHG Plots a Big Global Expansion

IHG Hotels & Resorts is growing, announcing many new signings worldwide. Its Vignette Collection will expand in Spain with the opening of San Bernardo, Vignette Collection, in a restored commercial property in central Madrid in 2028. In 2029, Kimpton will debut in Rome’s popular Via Veneto area. The chain has signed deals to bring its new Garner brand to the Middle East via the Garner Hotel Dubai Al Jaddaf and Garner Hotel Ras Al Khaimah Downtown, both scheduled to open this year. Further east, the chain’s Noted Collection brand will debut in Japan after the conversion of an existing property in Tokyo’s Shinjuku, scheduled to open in 2027, and a new-build property in Ginza, set to open in 2028.

Other Industry News

Two Hilton properties, Hilton Bangkok Sukhumvit 24 and DoubleTree Bangkok Sukhumvit 26, will exit the Hilton portfolio as of November 6, 2026. Meliá Hotels is set to take control of both properties, and existing reservations beyond November 6 will be handled by Meliá.

Hyatt Leverage, a business-focused program that’s a perk of the chain’s co-branded business card, is moving to a new platform. Per reports, Hyatt will require existing businesses enrolled in the program to reapply, and they can only continue accessing benefits if approved. However, it’s not entirely clear how reapplying will work for members who joined the program via card membership.

The StandardX Bangkok rebranded this week, becoming the QURO Bangkok Riverside, branded as Unscripted by Hyatt now. That leaves just 1 StandardX property in the world: Melbourne, Australia.

Final Thoughts

This week, we’re particularly excited about a Charleston grande dame joining Marriott and buzzy about upcoming properties including Nobu San Juan and Delano Puglia.

As always, we’ll be back next week with more updates.
