The third week of October was a busy one. We saw several luxury hotels and resorts opening in Thailand, Sydney, and Türkiye. There was also exciting news about upcoming projects in the United Arab Emirates, Arizona, and other locations.

Dinso Resort & Villas Ko Chang, Vignette Collection by IHG, Thailand

Located on Ko Chang, an island in the Gulf of Thailand, Dinso Resort & Villas Ko Chang, Vignette Collection, is now officially open to guests.

The resort offers 168 guest rooms and villas in various configurations, including direct pool access rooms, suites with panoramic views, family rooms, and private pool villas. Amenities include 4 restaurants and bars, a spa, a kids’ club, and a craft studio.

Caption by Hyatt Central Sydney, Australia

Caption by Hyatt Central Sydney is now open, marking the debut for the brand in Australia and the Pacific. The hotel features 174 guest rooms and offers amenities such as Talk Shop, an all-day cafe, bar, co-working space, and venue, a restaurant, a fitness center, and laundry facilities.

Garner Hotel Istanbul – Airport Arnavutköy has opened near Istanbul Airport (IST). The 56-room hotel is conveniently located near cafes, restaurants, and shops while also offering easy access to the airport.

Amenities include an on-site restaurant, laundry and dry-cleaning services, all-day food and beverage options, and airport transfers.

The Brighton Hotel Sydney – MGallery Collection, Australia

The Brighton Hotel Sydney – MGallery Collection offers 307 guest rooms and suites. The hotel features a Mediterranean fine dining restaurant, several restaurants and bars, swimming pools, a fitness center, a sauna and a steam room. Sydney Airport (SYD) is just a 10-minute drive by car.

Cambria Hotel Portland – Pearl District, Oregon

The 178-room Cambria Hotel Portland – Pearl District has officially opened for guests. The pet-friendly hotel brings guests into the heart of Portland, offering easy access to the city’s Saturday Market, museums, and attractions like the Oregon Convention Center.

Amenities include a restaurant and bar, a fitness studio, 1,350 square feet of meeting spaces, and a marketplace stocked with snacks and travel necessities.

TRIBE Auckland Fort Street, New Zealand

Accor’s TRIBE brand has debuted in New Zealand, with the opening of TRIBE Auckland Fort Street. The boutique hotel has just 60 guest rooms, which Accor describes as “compact in footprint but big on personality.”

Amenities include a lobby bar, a restaurant with a Southern California-inspired menu, and a grab-and-go counter.

Homewood Suites by Hilton Santa Maria, California

Homewood Suites by Hilton Santa Maria opened to guests this week, featuring 196 guest rooms. Amenities include an on-site restaurant, pet-friendly accommodations, a fitness center, and an outdoor heated pool.

The hotel is located a short distance from several wineries and tasting rooms, and is an 18-minute drive from the popular Pismo Beach.

Upcoming Hotels

SO/ Ras Al Khaimah, United Arab Emirates (2025)

Ennismore’s high-end SO/ brand is set to open its first all-inclusive resort outside Europe. SO/ Ras Al Khaimah, located in the United Arab Emirates, will have 257 rooms and suites across 7 categories.

The resort will feature 5 food and beverage options, a spa and wellness area with treatment rooms, a sauna, a cold-water pool, a gym, and 7 golf courses.

SO/ Ras Al Khaimah will open later this year; however, pricing for the resort isn’t available yet. When it does open, you’ll be able to save 50% off room rates here (and at other new hotels) within 3 months of opening when you join the Ennismore Dis-Loyalty program. The program costs just $18 per month, and you’ll receive other perks, including a 10% discount on every return stay.

Kimpton Miralina Resort & Villas, Arizona (2026)

IHG announced the signing of the Kimpton Miralina Resort & Villas in Paradise Valley, Arizona, which will feature more than 400 guest rooms, suites, and villas. The resort will offer a full suite of amenities, including several dining options, 2 tennis courts, a fitness center, access to nearby hiking trails, 6 swimming pools, a salon, and a day spa.

Kimpton Miralina Resort & Villas is expected to open for guests in early 2026.

Choice Hotels Launches MainStay Suites Brand in Australia

Choice Hotels is expanding its budget MainStay Suites brand outside of North America for the first time. The brand will introduce 7 hotels to Australia, with locations in cities like Melbourne, Whyalla, Mackay, and Townsville.  

The expansion will grow Choice’s presence Down Under to 163 hotels spanning nearly 7,500 rooms. MainStay Suites is an extended-stay brand known for rooms offering fully equipped kitchens, large living areas, laundry facilities, and dedicated workspaces. 

Final Thoughts

October has been a strong and exciting month in the hotel industry, and this week was no different. Several interesting projects have recently opened, including an affordable luxury resort in Thailand and a new Accor hotel in Auckland. We’re also excited about some new hotels on the horizon, including a Kimpton resort in Arizona and an all-inclusive resort set to open in the UAE.
