Hyatt has signed a deal that will bring its luxury lifestyle Thompson brand to life in the Italian capital by mid-2024.

“We are honored to continue to work with AG Group s.r.l. to welcome the Thompson Hotels brand to one of the world’s most coveted leisure destinations,” said Nunu Galvao Pinto, Regional Vice President of Real Estate and Development at Hyatt.

Let’s take a look at the details of Hyatt’s future Thompson Hotel in Rome.

Thompson Hotels Coming to Rome

This forthcoming Thompson property will feature just 70 rooms, which is sure to add to the exclusive, luxurious feel of the hotel.

In true Thompson form, guests can expect the Thompson Rome to encapsulate the culture, art, design, and cuisine of the country, city, and even the Jewish Quarter in which it will be located.

“We know that there is a growing appetite amongst today’s travelers and developers for hotels that cater to culturally savvy guests and bring a modern approach to conventional hospitality,” said Pinto.

Hot Tip:

To get an insight into what it’s like to stay at a Thompson hotel, check out this review of The Beekman, a Thompson Hotel in New York where “the old school charm, history, and character of the decades-old building gave a sense that you’d almost gone back in time.”

Boasting sweeping views across the ancient city, the hotel’s rooftop restaurant and terrace promise to be a hit with guests and locals alike.

The indulgence won’t stop there, though — guests will have a further 3 dining outlets to choose from.

When the Thompson Rome opens, it will be the brand’s first foray into Italy and will become just the second European location for the brand. The first opened in Madrid, Spain in 2022.

Following the Thompson Rome, the Thompson Vienna is slated to open in 2025.

The Thompson Rome will participate in the World of Hyatt program, though we don’t know yet which category it will fall under. However, travelers will be able to earn and redeem World of Hyatt points at the property.

Keep in mind, too, that you can transfer Chase Ultimate Rewards points to World of Hyatt at a 1:1 ratio.

Final Thoughts

Hyatt’s Thompson brand is the ultimate in modern luxury combined with authentic culture, cuisine, and design. Where better to open such a hotel than in the heart of one of the world’s most historic and iconic cities?
