A swanky new Hyatt Centric hotel has opened in China — and it’s incredibly affordable using World of Hyatt points.

Here’s what you need to know about the hotel and how to book with cash or points!

Hyatt Centric Joins Several Hyatt Brands in Xi’an

Hyatt Centric Gaoxin Xi’an has 231 rooms — including 11 suites with balconies — and is located in the heart of Xi’an’s Hi-Tech Zone.

Amenities include a Chinese restaurant, more than 6,000 square feet of meeting space, a fitness center, an outdoor terrace, and a hospitality suite with a separate living and dining room.

This is Hyatt’s sixth hotel in Xi’an, the third-most populous city in Western China that was the starting point of the Silk Road. Hyatt’s other brands in the city include Grand Hyatt, Hyatt Regency, and UrCove.

“Xi’an is a destination packed with history and must-see sights. We are excited to provide guests a central starting point to entice exploration of the city’s rich history, local customs, traditions, and cuisines,” said Mariano Silvestri, General Manager, Hyatt Centric Gaoxin Xi’an.

How To Book Hyatt Centric Gaoxin Xi’an

Hyatt Centric Gaoxin Xi’an is now accepting reservations. As part of the World of Hyatt program, you can earn and redeem World of Hyatt points at this hotel.

The hotel is a Category 2 property, meaning award nights start at just 6,500 points per night (off-peak). Cash rates are also cheap, starting at $96 per night, making this hotel a sweet spot if you’re trying to qualify for Hyatt status.

It isn’t easy to earn World of Hyatt points, but they are among the most valuable hotel currency out there. Much of Asia — and China in particular — has hundreds of mid-range or high-end Category 1-4 properties where you can use a free night certificate.

You can earn World of Hyatt points by transferring Chase Ultimate Rewards or Bilt Rewards points to Hyatt at a 1:1 ratio. You can also earn points through welcome bonuses and spending on a co-branded credit card.

Final Thoughts

Hyatt has opened a new hotel in Xi’an, China, and it’s pretty high-end for being a Category 2 property. You’ll be close to all Xi’an has to offer, and with affordable cash and points rates, it’s a fantastic way to qualify for Hyatt elite status if you’re in the region!
