If you’re a fan of Champagne and affordable hotels, look no further than the Hyatt Centric Reims — about 45 minutes from Paris by train.
The new hotel, which opens to guests on November 4, is a short distance from Reims’ famous Champagne houses. Plus, it’s incredibly affordable when using World of Hyatt points.
Let’s take a look.

Luxury Hotel Opening Near Notre Dame Cathedral
Hyatt Centric Reims has 155 guest rooms and suites across 5 categories, some offering views of the canal and the nearby Notre-Dame Cathedral of Reims — not to be confused with its Paris namesake.
The hotel has a restaurant and bar serving French cuisine and Champagne pairings, along with amenities such as meeting spaces, a fitness center, and pet-friendly rooms.

If you’re looking to be near all of the action, you’re in luck. Notre-Dame Cathedral is a short distance away, and the hotel is close to several Champagne houses, such as Piper-Heidsieck, Krug, and Veuve Clicquot Ponsardin.
We’re seeing cash rates for around $160 per night, which is pretty decent for Reims.
However, we strongly recommend using World of Hyatt points, rather than paying cash. The hotel is a Category 3 hotel, which means rates start at 9,000 points per night off-peak, 12,000 points per night on standard nights, and 15,000 points per night on peak nights.

Because of the low award rates, you can apply a Category 1-4 Free Night Certificate to cover a night here. There are several ways to earn a Category 1-4 Certificate, such as participating in the Brand Explorer program, staying 30 qualifying nights (or earning 50,000 base points) in a calendar year, or having a co-branded Hyatt credit card.
Hot Tip:
Earning World of Hyatt points isn’t that easy, but you have some options if you need to top up your balance. Chase Ultimate Rewards and Bilt Rewards can be transferred to Hyatt at a 1:1 ratio, and you can also earn points by spending on 1 of Hyatt’s co-branded cards.
