Typically, the opening of a Hyatt Place wouldn’t raise many eyebrows, but today’s news is an exception. The Hyatt Place Rouen, a 4-star hotel located in Normandy, France, is 1 of the most luxe hotels we’ve seen from the brand.

For a Hyatt Place (1 of Hyatt’s economical brands), the 85-room Hyatt Place Rouen is certainly more high-end. Amenities include a French restaurant, a spa with a heated pool and treatment rooms, a gym, and 3 meeting rooms.

This is a notable departure from most Hyatt Place hotels, which typically offer a fitness center and little else in the way of amenities.

The hotel is inside a former teacher training college that dates back to 1886 and is near both the Musée des Beaux-Arts de Rouen and the Gothic Cathédrale Notre-Dame de Rouen. It is a 2-hour drive from Paris.
