IHG is out with a very limited-time promotion for Cyber Monday where you can earn 10,000 IHG points for booking and staying 2 nights between now and December 31. This is a simple promotion to participate in and a great way to earn extra points, but you need to be careful of the terms and conditions.

The registration and participation process for this promotion differs from many other offers, so it’s important to pay close attention so you can earn your points. To be eligible to earn the bonus points, you need to register first, which you can do here.

Now, here’s the important part. Normally promotions allow you to stay whatever nights you need to stay, regardless of whether you booked them before the promotion’s launch. This offer is different. In order to have an eligible night, you need to book the stay after you register and only nights booked after will count.

Putting it simply, if you already have a night booked, it won’t count toward this offer.

However, you can still participate. Take a look at your current reservations and see whether it makes sense to cancel any one of them and re-book. Your rate may have dropped, or it may be a flexible rate that allows a re-booking. In either case, doing so may allow you to utilize those new bookings to take advantage of this offer.

You can earn 10,000 bonus IHG points for every 2 nights you stay from now through December 31. To avoid any issues, you’ll want to make sure you check out by December 31 at the latest from a stay, that way it counts under this offer. With 31 days in December, you can earn around 150,000 points assuming you stay every night. Keep in mind this promotion awards points based on nights, not stays, which are different.

Bookings must occur on Cyber Monday, November 28, or the following day, November 29, and only these days will count for bookings. Keep in mind, only cash bookings will count for this offer. Award bookings do not qualify for this promotion. You must spend a minimum of $30 a night in order to qualify, which shouldn’t be too hard to do.

Once you complete your 2 nights, it will take about 6 weeks for your points to post.
