I don’t stay at IHG hotels nearly as often as I do Hyatt, Hilton, or Marriott properties, but I’ve kept the IHG One Rewards Premier Credit Card in my wallet for nearly a decade. I recently opened an IHG One Rewards Premier Business Credit Card, which offers additional perks, including an annual free night certificate.

Here’s a look at the IHG Premier Business card and how I used its massive welcome bonus offer to book 4 nights during my May 2026 stay at the InterContinental Bali Sanur Resort.

The card earns up to 26 total IHG One Rewards points per $1 spent when you stay at IHG properties, 5 points per $1 spent on travel, at gas stations, on select advertising, and at restaurants, and 3 points per $1 spent on all other purchases.

The IHG Premier Business card offers several other benefits, including automatic IHG Platinum Elite status, which provides perks such as late checkout, complimentary room upgrades, and a welcome amenity.

Cardholders also benefit from free fourth consecutive nights on award stays, a perk that has saved me hundreds of thousands of IHG points over the years. Arguably the most valuable perk of the IHG Premier Business card is its 40,000-point free-night certificate, awarded on every cardmember anniversary.

The IHG Premier Business card also has a solid welcome offer:

  • Earn 140,000 Bonus Points after spending $4,000 on purchases in the first 3 months from account opening.

Though this is still a valuable welcome offer, I personally took advantage of the now-expired 200,000-point welcome offer.

What Are IHG One Rewards Points Worth?

IHG One Rewards points can be extremely valuable when redeemed strategically. At Upgraded Points, we currently value IHG One Rewards at 0.5 cents each, making the IHG Premier Business cards current welcome offer worth at least $700 toward IHG hotel stays.

Of course, how you redeem the points ultimately determines how much value you get. Generally speaking, the greatest value comes from taking advantage of the fourth consecutive free night perk. With this perk, you can get every fourth night free on standard room reward stays of 4 nights or longer.

How I Redeemed IHG Points at the InterContinental Bali Sanur Resort

I used the points I earned from my welcome offer to book a 4-night stay at the InterContinental Bali Sanur Resort.

Booking the InterContinental Bali Sanur Resort

As part of our yearlong trip abroad, my wife and I decided to spend roughly a month in Bali, Indonesia. Though we intended to spend most nights in Airbnbs, we also wanted to stay at a few hotels across the island.

After earning the IHG Premier Business card welcome offer, I thought Bali would be the perfect place to use my rewards. Though Bali is regarded as a world-class destination, hotel rates are quite reasonable.

Since we weren’t sure how long we wanted to stay at the InterContinental Bali Sanur Resort, we decided to book 4 nights to take advantage of the fourth-night-free perk on the IHG Premier Business card. We booked a 1 King Junior Suite Garden View room, which the property considers a standard room.

Our 4-night stay, including the free night, totaled 117,000 IHG One Rewards points, which, according to our valuations, is worth about $585.

For the same dates, the cash rate would have cost us roughly $958, including taxes and fees.

That redemption gave me a respectable 0.81 cents per IHG One Rewards point, significantly higher than our current valuation of IHG points.

Bottom Line:

By taking advantage of the fourth-night-free perk on award stays, I redeemed 117,000 IHG One Rewards points for 4 nights at the InterContinental Bali Sanur Resort.

InterContinental Bali Sanur Resort Junior Suite

I booked a standard room a 1 King Junior Suite Garden View — which was quite large, though it had an interesting layout.

The room’s king-size bed was placed directly in the center of the room, rather than against any wall. This created a bunch of empty space behind the bed, but the bed was still exceptionally comfortable and had high-quality linens.

There was a small lounging sofa at the foot of the bed and a compact workstation to the left. The room’s television was mounted above the corner workstation. Unfortunately, the placement resulted in poor viewing angles.

The suite featured an entirely separate outdoor area, connected through sliding doors. The outdoor space was massive and larger than entire rooms at many other hotels I have stayed at. That space provided a nice sense of separation and a place to relax and unwind.

The suite’s bathroom was equally inviting and spacious, with a deep soaking tub and separate doors for the toilet and walk-in shower.

The hotel staff went above and beyond to ensure we had a wonderful stay. I mentioned that my wife and I were coming for a special celebration, and the staff prepared our room accordingly, including a towel display, a complimentary dessert, and some seasonal fruit.

InterContinental Bali Sanur Resort Amenities

As expected of a luxury hotel in a premier destination, the InterContinental Bali Sanur Resort had plenty of amenities for guests, including a full-service spa, a 24-hour fitness center, a kids club, numerous meeting and event spaces, and several swimming pools, including a rooftop infinity swimming pool.

The resort grounds felt massive. Even with plenty of guests on the property, the hotel never felt crowded. That stood out to me, as several other Bali resorts I’ve visited felt much busier.

Final Thoughts

The IHG Premier Business card is a fantastic hotel rewards card for frequent IHG guests. Between the card’s complimentary Platinum Elite status and the 40,000-point free-night certificate each anniversary year, I believe it’s a card worth keeping for the long term.

The welcome offer alone can also provide meaningful value. My recent redemption at the luxurious InterContinental Bali Sanur Resort in Bali, Indonesia, saved me nearly $1,000 compared to paying cash.
