IHG One Rewards’ latest promotion will allow you to double-up your point earning over the next few months. Here is a look at the details of the latest deal and how you can stack it to get even more value from your upcoming IHG Hotels & Resorts stays.

When you register for the promotion through January 31, 2022, you’ll earn 2x base points on all IHG stays from February 1, 2022, through March 31, 2022, starting with your first stay. That is 2 full months of 2x rewards to help boost your IHG One Rewards points balance!

Keep in mind that the 2x promotion applies to your base points only, and any elite status bonus points or any other bonus or promotional points for the same stay are not included.

Since the base rate for all IHG One Rewards members is 10x points per $1, this means you’ll now earn a minimum of 20x points per $1 on your upcoming stays.

You can boost this even further by holding the IHG One Rewards Premier Credit Card, which comes with complimentary IHG One Rewards Platinum Elite status. All in, this can bring your rewards rate to 35x points per $1 on your IHG stays — a rebate of 17.5% based on our valuations.

Here are the other terms of the offer to be aware of:

The promotion is only valid for nights that start and end within the promotion period of February 1, 2022, to March 31, 2022.
Qualifying stays are a minimum 1-night stay booked under a qualifying rate, with total spend exceeding $30 for each night.
The 2x unlimited promotion is not subject to a promotional bonus points cap, so members are eligible to earn an unlimited number of bonus points during the promotion period.

Making your IHG reservation through Rakuten is the perfect way to get even more value out of this already lucrative offer. Currently, Rakuten is offering 3% cash-back on your U.S.-based IHG stays, or 3x Amex Membership Rewards points per $1 spent for those with an Amex-linked Rakuten account.

Further, not only is Rakuten well worth checking through for the cash-back/Membership Rewards bonus, but oftentimes you might find that they have discount codes available that can save you an additional 10% to 20% off your stay!

Final Thoughts

Even if you don’t currently have all your travels planned out through March yet, enrolling in the promotion is free and must be done by January 31, 2022, so you might as well sign up if you think there’s a chance you might use it.

While we don’t recommend that you impulsively book a stay with IHG in order to take advantage of this offer, if you have any upcoming IHG stays between February 1, 2022, and March 31, 2022, this promotion is a great way to get some extra value out of those stays.
