The fast-growing Vignette Collection brand from IHG Hotels & Resorts will make its Spanish debut in Mallorca next year.

Let’s take a look at this soon-to-open hotel.

First Vignette Collection Hotel in Spain

Vignette Collection Mallorca — Finca Banyols will be on the smaller side with just 45 guest rooms. The hotel will have a casual dining option, a bar, a fine-dining restaurant, a spa, 2 pools, and event spaces.

The hotel will open in the first half of 2025.

It’s pretty easy to get to Mallorca, a Spanish island in the Mediterranean, from the U.S. United Airlines offers seasonal service from Newark (EWR) to Palma de Mallorca (PMI). If you add 1 stop to your itinerary, numerous additional airlines can get you there.

“As one of our key growth markets in Europe, we are thrilled to see our continued expansion in the country through new brands in new locations,” said IHG Vice President, Development, Europe, Willemijn Geels.

“As our luxury conversion brand,” she continued, “Vignette Collection introduces a new offering to Spain which allows owners to retain the independent identity and character of their hotels, whilst providing guests with a one-of-a-kind stay.”

Bottom Line:

Vignette Collection — a collection of one-of-a-kind, independent, high-end hotels — is 1 of IHG’s newest brands. The first property opened in Australia in late 2021. Today, the brand has 12 open hotels worldwide in cities like Bangkok, Porto, and Washington. While Vignette Collection doesn’t have a huge presence yet, it’s clear that IHG sees it as an essential brand for its development. IHG says more than 100 hotels will join Vignette Collection over the next decade.

Booking IHG Hotels in Spain

IHG has a significant presence in Spain, which makes sense, given the chain’s European origins.

Its portfolio of 58 hotels includes flagship properties like InterContinental Barcelona and Kimpton Vividora Hotel. However, IHG also has an extensive collection of all-inclusive resorts in Spain through an “exclusive alliance” with Iberostar.

The all-inclusive resorts are a solid sweet spot, and you can book many with IHG One Rewards points. For instance, we spotted rates at the Iberostar Waves Bouganville Playa from 69,000 points per night next year. (IHG has no award chart, so award rates can vary).

Luckily, it’s easy to earn lots of IHG points. The program is a 1:1 transfer partner of  Bilt Rewards and Chase Ultimate Rewards. Other ways to earn points include opening a co-branded IHG credit card and dining through the IHG One Rewards Dining program.

Final Thoughts

IHG fans will be pleased to learn that they’ll have a new luxury points option in Spain. While details are scant (at least for now), the hotel will include many features we expect with a Vignette Collection property, like high-end dining and a spa.

We can’t wait to check out this hotel when it’s finally open in 2025.
