Planning a wedding is one of the most expensive events most people will ever take on.

Finding ways to squeeze value out of that spending are definitely worth knowing about.

IHG Hotels & Resorts has a promotion running through December 31, 2027, that lets the contract signatory earn up to 300,000 IHG One Rewards points for hosting a wedding or wedding-related event at select Luxury & Lifestyle properties in the U.S., Caribbean, and Central America.

Here’s how it works.

Earn up to 300,000 IHG Points on a Wedding

To participate, contracts must be signed by December 31, 2026, for events held through December 31, 2027. The offer must be mentioned at the initial inquiry or presented by the hotel directly, and an initial deposit is required to lock it in. You can see the full terms here.

Participating IHG brands include InterContinental, Kimpton, Regent, and Six Senses, spanning some genuinely impressive properties. On the U.S. side, you’re looking at locations in Chicago, Miami, Nashville, New York City, San Francisco, Seattle, and Washington, D.C., among many others. Internationally, the participating properties cover the Dominican Republic, Grand Cayman, Grenada, and Honduras.

Points are earned in tiers based on qualifying spend — including food and beverage minimums, ceremony site fees, and room rental fees — and do not include taxes, gratuities, service charges, or guest room revenue.

Is It Worth It?

You’ll earn IHG One Rewards points based on how much you spend with this offer. The earning rates are:

We value IHG One Rewards points at 0.5 cents each, which means those bonus are worth roughly $600, $900, $1,200, and $1,500 in value, respectively.

Against a $40,000 event, earning $1,500 worth of points works out to about a 3.75% return — and the return rate actually gets worse as your spending increases, given that you can’t earn any additional bonus points above $40,000 in spending.

That’s not a compelling enough proposition to reroute your wedding plans around. If you had your heart set on a non-IHG venue, 300,000 points isn’t going to change the math enough to matter.

But if you’re already weighing an IHG property against a comparable alternative, this offer could absolutely tip the scales. Getting $1,500 in essentially free honeymoon hotel nights for doing nothing differently is a reasonable bonus.

Hot Tip:

Using the right credit card for your wedding expenses can add extra points along the way, whether it’s spending in a category that awards bonus points or picking up a big welcome bonus along the way.

Final Thoughts

This is a solid offer for couples already in IHG’s orbit — particularly those eyeing a Kimpton or an InterContinental for their venue.

The points won’t blow anyone away, but they’re a nice add-on that could fund a night or 2 on the honeymoon. Just make sure to mention the offer at inquiry, and confirm it’s written into the contract before signing.
