Inclu, which focuses on enabling travel for all people, has launched the first hotel platform specifically focused on travelers with disabilities. The Inclusive Luxury Hotels platform only includes properties with “Verified by IncluCare” approval.

While the number of properties available right now is small, the goal is to more than double it by the end of the year.

The site’s goal is to open travel to everyone by letting them know it’s possible and helping them avoid countless hours of verifying rooms and hotel properties for their needs — removing barriers to travel.

What Is Verified by IncluCare?

Established in 2022, Verified by IncluCare is an accreditation given by Inclu — a brand that focuses on “conscious inclusivity,” in which the physical space is just 1 aspect of a trip that could have barriers to travel that hinder people in different ways.

Verified by IncluCare is a 4-step process for accreditation of organizations and hospitality brands in all aspects of the guest experience across mobility, sensory, and neurodivergent needs. It includes inspections of the facilities and amenities, education for onsite staff, a plan for improvement (if needed), and then promotion of the brand on Inclu’s site once accreditation is received.

Part of the accreditation process requires hotels to make their accessible rooms visible on the Inclusive Luxury Hotels website, and the hotels must confirm guests into these rooms — rather than making bookings for accessible rooms merely a request, as many major hotel chains do.

The Inclusive Luxury Hotels Collection

The first hotel booking platform focused on travelers with visible and nonvisible disabilities is called Inclusive Luxury Hotels. Unfortunately, just 18 hotels and resorts are listed so far, covering 10 countries. The stated goal, however, is to have at least 50 properties by the end of 2025.

Guests can view a full list of hotels or search using filters like location, hotel type, and keywords. Options for “hotel type” include city centers, safaris, heritage properties, beach destinations, and more.

Properties available on the platform include The Atlantic Hotel, Jersey; Euphoria Retreat, Greece; Hotel Éclat Beijing, China; La Miniera Pool Villas Pattaya, Thailand; and Leopard Walk Lodge and Ximuwu Lodge, South Africa.

Additionally, the platform highlights properties en route to accreditation, such as Cloud Forest Lodge, Lapa Rios Lodge, and Monteverde Lodge in Costa Rica; Conrad London St. James, Great Scotland Yard Hotel and Pan Pacific London in the U.K.; Conrad Maldives Rangali Island; Gaïa Riverlodge and Matachica Resort & Spa in Belize; Hyatt Centric Park City in Utah; and Lujo Hotel in Türkiye.

Verified by IncluCare has also given its first 5-star rating to the Amilla Maldives, which is featured in the collection.

Hot Tip:

While the Inclusive Luxury Hotels platform doesn’t offer a rewards program, some of the hotels it lists participate in programs like World of Hyatt and Hilton Honors, or can be booked through Hilton’s partnership with Small Luxury Hotels of the World, letting you book your stay with points to save money.

Final Thoughts

There are many barriers to travel for those with disabilities, and part of removing those barriers is letting people know how to find hotels that suit their needs. While it’s launched with a small number of hotels at present, the Inclusive Luxury Hotels platform plans to expand rapidly, and it fills a needed space in the inclusive travel market.
