Update:The offer mentioned below has expired and is no longer available.

If you’ve got a stash of JetBlue TrueBlue points to burn, JetBlue is offering an automatic 20% discount on select award flights this spring and early summer. However, you’ll need to act quickly and book by the end of day tomorrow, March 13.

This limited-time offer can provide some significant savings on award flights — that is, if you’re able to act quickly. Here are the details!

Get a 20% Discount on Select Award Flights

First off, to take advantage of this sale, you need to book by 11:59 p.m. local time on Wednesday, March 13, 2024. You’ll be able to travel between May 1 and June 12, with May 23 to 27 being the only blackout dates of this sale.

To take advantage of this promotion, simply visit JetBlue’s website and search for your flights. The base price you see in points will already reflect the 20% discount, so there’s nothing additional you need to do to get the discounted price.

Unfortunately, you cannot use your points to fly in Mint or on transatlantic flights as part of this sale, which is really where the value would come in.

Instead, only economy class flights are available in JetBlue’s mostly domestic route network — though there are many Caribbean and Latin American flights on sale.

Example Flight

This June, you could book an award flight from New York (JFK) to Grand Cayman (GCM) for just 7,800 miles and $5.60 in taxes and fees. It’s a Blue fare (read: not Blue Basic), so you’ll get access to seat selection, a personal item, and a carry-on bag.

Redeem JetBlue Points

The same flight in cash costs $163, so you’re looking at over 2 cents per value with this award. This is certainly a great way to redeem JetBlue points, considering we value JetBlue TrueBlue points at just 1.3 cents apiece.

Hot Tip:

Don’t have any JetBlue TrueBlue points? Remember that you can transfer your Amex Membership Rewards (1:0.8 ratio) or Chase Ultimate Rewards points (1:1 ratio) to JetBlue.

Final Thoughts

This sale is a fantastic way to kick off the summer with some nicely reduced flight prices when using your balance of JetBlue points. Unfortunately, the sale only lasts for a brief period of time.

However, if you’re flexible enough to make this timing work, the savings can be significant for you.
