JetBlue has just announced that its stylish business class product, Mint, will now be offered on several new routes. Furthermore, the airline has reaffirmed its position as Puerto Rico’s top carrier by also announcing 6 new routes from San Juan (SJU).

Here’s what you should know about this exciting development.

New Mint Routes

JetBlue Mint, the airline’s name for its business class product, offers an incredibly comfortable flying experience with lie-flat seats. It’s an ideal way to travel across the country, to the Caribbean, and, more recently, even to European destinations like London and Paris.

The updated Mint routes are as follows:

The airline will begin service in the fall between San Juan Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport (SJU) and Providence, RI (PVD); Westchester County, NY (HPN); Santiago, Dominican Republic (STI); Medellín, Colombia (MDE); Cancún, Mexico (CUN); and St. Croix, USVI (STX).

“We are pleased to welcome JetBlue’s expansion, with the addition of new routes to and from the Luis Muñoz Marin International Airport and six popular travel destinations within the U.S. East Coast and Latin America,” said Puerto Rico Governor Pedro R. Pierlusi. “This announcement highlights the airline’s commitment to our market and directly validates and supports our administration’s vision and plans to continue enhancing the growth of our tourism industry in Puerto Rico.”

With this planned expansion in San Juan, JetBlue will average 40 departures per day from the island’s capital city, which is more than any other airline. In addition to its robust daily schedule from San Juan, JetBlue offers nonstop service to Aguadilla (BQN) and Ponce (PSE), 2 other popular tourist destinations in the territory.

New Caribbean Destinations

In addition to JetBlue’s expansion with new Mint routes and aggressive growth plans in Puerto Rico, the airline has announced the addition of 1 returning and 2 all-new Caribbean destinations to its route network.

With about a third of JetBlue’s network touching the Caribbean and Latin America, it’s no surprise that the airline is dedicated to becoming the top carrier in these regions and is constantly expanding its offerings.

On top of the aforementioned service between San Juan and St. Croix, JetBlue will launch nonstop flights from New York and 2 entirely new destinations in the Caribbean: Bonaire (BON) and St. Vincent (SVD). Start dates and frequencies have yet to be revealed for these 2 idyllic island destinations, but JetBlue will be the only airline offering nonstop service on both of these routes.

JetBlue has offered flights between San Juan and St. Croix before, but it’s been 5 years. They’ll resume just in time for the holidays in mid-December.

Finally, to celebrate the new routes, JetBlue is offering a limited-time sale on fares. Tickets in economy start at $29 one-way, while select Mint routes start at $399. Visit JetBlue’s website to book!

Final Thoughts

While JetBlue has recently made headlines for its struggles to return to profitability, more opportunities to fly Mint and a more extensive network mean that travelers will have more ways to experience JetBlue and enjoy its generally superb onboard experience.
