Today is National Pet Day, and to celebrate, JetBlue Airways is offering discounts on pet fares for small dogs and cats flying on eligible flights throughout the summer.

Here’s what you need to know about this sale for your furry friends!

Pets Can Fly Cheaper on JetBlue This Summer

If you book your tickets today, you can book pet fares (applicable for small dogs and cats) on eligible flights for just $99, down from the typical $125.

To score this deal, you must book today, April 11, 2024, and travel on a JetBlue-operated flight through September 2, 2024. Be sure to add your pet either at jetblue.com or the JetBlue mobile app (iOS, Android) in the “Bags & Extras” section. Once you complete these steps, the discount will be reflected upon checkout.

Here are some other things to know about the sale:

Your pet must be added at the time of booking
Dogs and cats must meet JetBlue’s size requirements
The sale price is not applicable to intercontinental flights or codeshare/interline bookings
Your pet must travel in an FAA-approved carrier that fits under the seat in front of you
Maximum of 2 pets per traveler, and each must be in its own carrier
JetBlue allows a maximum of 6 pets per flight, so make your bookings quickly

Note, too, that while you can redeem JetBlue TrueBlue points for the human portion of your tickets, you’ll still need to pay for your furry companion in cash. This means you’ll want to use a credit card that rewards you for travel purchases.

JetBlue also offers a range of its own co-branded credit cards that provide cardholders with airline-specific perks, including free checked baggage, which is especially important considering JetBlue recently raised its checked bag fees again.
