JetBlue has announced it will resume nonstop flights from Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL) to Guayaquil (GYE), Ecuador, and Philadelphia (PHL). South Florida-based travelers and connecting passengers can once again fly direct with the airline to these destinations.

Let’s take a look at the details of these returning routes.

Fort Lauderdale Remains a Key Market for JetBlue

JetBlue will resume 2 nonstop routes from Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport demonstrating the airline’s strong presence in South Florida, where its departures have increased 6% year over year.

The airline is Fort Lauderdale’s top premium leisure carrier, with over 70 daily flights to more than 30 destinations, including the most flights to the Caribbean and Latin America for this upcoming summer.

“With direct access from Philadelphia and Guayaquil via Fort Lauderdale, we’re not only making it easier for more customers to get to their favorite vacation destination but also strengthening JetBlue’s position as a preferred carrier in South Florida,” Daniel Shurz, head of revenue, network, and enterprise planning at JetBlue, said in a press release.

With aircraft available as it moved capacity from other markets, JetBlue was able to restart flights from Fort Lauderdale to Philadelphia (suspended in 2023) and Guayaquil (suspended in 2024.)

The service between Fort Lauderdale and Philadelphia International Airport (PHL) will resume on July 3, operating twice daily year-round.

Here’s the flight schedule for this twice-daily resuming service:

  • Departing Fort Lauderdale 8 a.m. and arriving in Philadelphia 10:50 a.m.
  • Departing Philadelphia 11:45 a.m. and arriving in Fort Lauderdale 2:35 p.m.
  • Departing Fort Lauderdale 4:10 p.m. and arriving in Philadelphia 7 p.m.
  • Departing Philadelphia 7:55 p.m. and arriving in Fort Lauderdale 10:45 p.m.

On July 17, JetBlue begins daily service from Fort Lauderdale to Guayaquil, Ecuador. Here’s the once-daily resuming schedule:

  • Departing Fort Lauderdale 10 a.m. and arriving in Guayaquil, Ecuador 1:30 p.m.
  • Departing Guayaquil, Ecuador 2:40 p.m. and arriving in Fort Lauderdale 8:09 p.m.

The airline will operate its Airbus A320s on the route, which feature free high-speed internet and seat-back entertainment for all passengers. The A320s do not have JetBlue’s Mint business class.

JetBlue is currently offering special introductory tickets starting at $69 one-way between Fort Lauderdale and Philadelphia and $119 one-way between Fort Lauderdale and Guayaquil to commemorate the resumption of these routes at JetBlue.com.

Hot Tip:

If you’re paying for JetBlue flights with cash (rather than with TrueBlue points), we recommend using one of these travel cards to reward you for your airfare. If you’d like to use points instead, refer to our guide on the best ways to redeem your TrueBlue points for maximum value!

Final Thoughts

The return of 2 popular routes from Fort Lauderdale to Guayaquil, Ecuador, and Philadelphia is a welcome sight for South Floridians.

Guayaquil is the ideal starting point for a trip to the renowned Galapagos Islands. It is closer to the islands than Quito, offering shorter nonstop flights and more frequent departures. Twice-daily service between Fort Lauderdale and Philadelphia will be a delightful option for those in the Northeast looking to escape the cold and enjoy fun and sun in South Florida.
