Marriott has some big news today: The hotel giant is gearing up for the opening of the JW Marriott Hotel Tokyo, scheduled for October 2, 2025.

The 200-room JW Marriott Hotel Tokyo will open in early October in the Takanawa Gateway City development.

While JW Marriott has an impressive presence with 100+ hotels in 40 countries, this is the brand’s first hotel in Tokyo.

The hotel was developed by the New York design firm Yabu Pushelberg, which is responsible for other ultra-luxury projects such as The Times Square EDITION; Park Hyatt, Shenzhen; and the dual Moxy Downtown Los Angeles and AC Hotel Downtown Los Angeles hotels.

Amenities include 7 dining options, including one helmed by two Michelin-starred consulting chefs, a restaurant serving traditional Japanese cuisine (with sake from every prefecture), and a southern Mediterranean restaurant.

Other amenities include the JW Mindfulness Floor, which features the famed Spa by JW, an indoor heating pool, a fitness center, and wellness programming. On this floor, there are also 9 “Wellness Rooms.”
