Mama Shelter Brand Set To Debut in Cape Town

Ennismore has announced that its eclectic Mama Shelter brand will debut in Cape Town, South Africa.

South Africa Brand Debut of Mama Shelter Hotels

Mama Shelter Cape Town is expected to have 127 guest rooms spanning 3 room categories. Additionally, the hotel will offer 68 branded residences, including 36 studios.

Amenities will include a gym, pool, all-day rooftop restaurant, coworking stations, and meeting spaces. An additional restaurant will occupy the ground floor. Ennismore will also debut Mama Play, an arcade featuring bowling, karaoke, and dedicated food and beverage spaces.

This is a pretty big deal for Ennismore, as it represents the first Mama Shelter brand signing in South Africa.

Ennismore has not announced a hotel opening date, but we’ll update you when we have more information.

“Cape Town is a dynamic city that offers something for everyone, so it is the perfect place to introduce our new Mama Play concept,” Gobilliard continued.

If you aren’t familiar with the brand, Mama Shelter was founded in 2008 in Paris as a concept hotel. The brand brings people together through eclectic offerings and high-quality dining. Mama Shelter is part of the Ennismore family, which participates in the ALL – Accor Live Limitless program. That gives you the ability to earn and redeem points at the properties.

More than 15 Mama Shelter hotels are open worldwide in cities like Los Angeles, London, Paris, and Rome. Additional Mama Shelter hotels are planned for Nice, Dubai, Casablanca, and Downtown Los Angeles.

Mama Shelter properties are some of the most affordable mid-tier hotels under Ennismore, especially in Europe. For instance, you can score a 1-night stay at Mama Shelter Prague — a 4-star hotel — for just $97 per night for dates this fall.
