If you are looking to rent a vacation home on Homes & Villas by Marriott Bonvoy, you now have 2,000 new properties to choose from. That’s because Marriott is partnering with VacayHome Connect, a platform that helps property owners list and manage vacation rental businesses.

Here’s what this means for travelers.

Homes & Villas Adds Properties From VacayHome Connect

According to a statement from VacayHome Connect, this means that select homes and villas from its global portfolio are now available for booking on the Homes & Villas by Marriott Bonvoy site. Booking 1 of the newly added 2,000 properties should look and feel the same as any other property on the site.

It also means that Marriott Bonvoy members can earn and redeem points for their stays, as with any other Homes & Villas by Marriott Bonvoy property.

What Is Homes & Villas by Marriott Bonvoy?

Unlike a hotel room, Homes & Villas by Marriott Bonvoy allows guests to stay in a private home or villa and still earn Marriott Bonvoy points. It’s an especially attractive option for longer stays or for people going on vacation with a group since the homes offer actual kitchens, multiple bedrooms, and often amenities like a swimming pool, outdoor space, or a barbecue. Think of it as Marriott’s version of Airbnb or Vrbo.

Where Are the New Properties?

According to VacayHome Connect, the new properties are in destinations such as Scottsdale, Denver, Telluride, Myrtle Beach, Tybee Island, Panama City Beach, Whistler, and Hawaii.

Homes & Villas by Marriott Bonvoy is generally not cheap, however.

A check of prices and availability for a ski week in Whistler, British Columbia, for 4 adults and 2 children in January returned $3,492 (or 624,000 Bonvoy points) as the cheapest option.

If the same group wanted to go to Maui, Hawaii, over the same period, the cheapest option would be $4,268 or 762,000 Bonvoy points.

For those looking for a ski chalet or condo, though, there is currently a Homes & Villas by Marriott Bonvoy promotion for ski home rentals, offering 10% off participating vacation rentals globally when you book by Friday, October 25.

Bonvoy members enjoy a 10% discount when booking a ski home rental for 3 nights or more at the same property by the offer deadline. The offer applies to stays from October 7, 2024, to April 30, 2025, and only to stays in California, Colorado, Utah, Vermont, and 1 European country: Austria.

Hot Tip:

If you book your stay with a Marriott Bonvoy co-branded credit card, you can earn up to 17x points per dollar spent at Homes & Villas by Marriott Bonvoy.

Final Thoughts

While Homes & Villas by Marriott Bonvoy are generally not cheap, they can be a good solution for people traveling with a group or who are looking for a private residence offering possibilities that hotels cannot.

Thanks to a new partnership with VacayHome Connect, the list of properties bookable on the Homes & Villas by Marriott Bonvoy site is growing by a hefty 2,000 locations. If you are looking for the amenities this type of property offers, and can foot the bill, there might very well be something attractive for you there.
