The ultra-luxe Mondrian brand is debuting in Australia with the opening of the Mondrian Gold Coast, scheduled for 2025.

Let’s take a look at this new resort coming to Australia’s Gold Coast next year.

Swanky Ennismore Brand Opening in Australia Next Year

The Mondrian Gold Coast will span 24 floors, encompassing 208 guest rooms, studios, suites, and homes along Burleigh Beach.

Amenities will include several dining outlets, a pool club, a wellness space, a spa, and an events space. The resort will be just a 15-minute drive to Gold Coast Airport (OOL).

The resort will open in 2025, though Mondrian didn’t mention an exact opening date.

This will be Mondrian’s debut in Australia, though the brand says the Down Under has “long been a strategic focus” for its growth.

“Over the last couple of years, we have seen a rising demand for lifestyle brands, where locals and international guests are looking for authentic, creative and immersive experiences — all the hallmarks of the Mondrian brand,” said Chadi Farhat, Mondrian brand chief operations officer.

Bottom Line:

More major hotel chains are expanding across Australia’s Gold Coast. Hyatt is planning to open the Andaz Gold Coast to guests next year and will become the first of the brand in Australia. However, Hyatt noted that the location was significant: 4 million Australians visited the region in 2023. Other brands, like Marriott, also have resorts planned for the Gold Coast region.

About Mondrian

Mondrian is 1 of Accor’s sleekest brands. The first Mondrian Hotel opened in Los Angeles in 1996, and today, the brand has hotels in 13 destinations worldwide. You’ll find Mondrian hotels in cities like Ibiza, Mexico City, Miami, and Seoul.

Ennismore owns the Mondrian brand. Its properties, like others, participate in the ALL – Accor Live Limitless program and can (in some cases) be booked with Accor points. However, Ennismore also has its own loyalty program, Dis-loyalty.

It’s not a traditional rewards program, as you won’t earn points or elite status. However, it has some solid benefits for just $18 monthly:

  • 50% off new hotels in the first 3 months of opening
  • 20% off your first visit to a hotel
  • 10% off return visits
  • 10% off food and beverage
  • Free barista-made drink every day
  • Participation in Dis-loyalty “Drop” dates

Final Thoughts

Accor is stepping up its game in Australia’s Gold Coast, where there is currently only a single 5-star resort present, which is excellent news for travelers. The Mondrian is one of the most recognizable and luxe brands worldwide, so a flagship resort in Australia will be welcome news when it opens next year!
