Last year, Marriott announced massive deals to partner with Sonder, an apartment-style brand, and Postcard Cabins, which has a portfolio of outdoor properties, to bring these brands under the Marriott Bonvoy umbrella.

Now, as integration of each brand into the Marriott Bonvoy program continues, you can earn and redeem Marriott Bonvoy points for stays at Postcard Cabins properties — let’s take a look.

Postcard Cabins Now Bookable With Points

As pointed out by Traveling for Miles, Postcard Cabins are now eligible for points earning and redemptions in the Marriott Bonvoy program. The brand offers camping-style stays in small cabins in 29 U.S. destinations, most of which are close to major cities but feel far off the beaten path.

Let’s take a look at a few of the properties and their cost with cash and Marriott Bonvoy points:

  • Postcard Cabins Asheboro (North Carolina): Just a 1.5-hour drive from Charlotte and Raleigh, Postcard Cabins Asheboro boasts incredible mountain views and an onsite trail leading to a stream and pond with catch-and-release fishing. Rates start from $139 or 29,000 Marriott Bonvoy points per night.
  • Postcard Cabins Eastern Catskills (New York): A 2.5-hour drive from New York City, Postcard Cabins Eastern Catskills is set among gorgeous forests and near Kaaterskill Falls, New York’s tallest cascading waterfall at 260 feet. Rates start from $151 or 54,000 Marriott Bonvoy points per night.
  • Postcard Cabins Hill Country (Texas): Only 1 hour from Austin and San Antonio, Postcard Cabins Hill Country provides stunning views of Old Baldy and is situated under wide-open skies, perfect for watching the stars at night. There’s also an onsite trail and a natural swimming hole nearby. Rates start from $139 or 38,000 Marriott Bonvoy points per night.

As you can see, some of these options are very affordable with cash or points, which is good news, especially if you’re planning a longer stay.

Earning and Redeeming Points at Postcard Cabins

Postcard Cabins offers “tiny cabin” accommodations among nature’s beauty in several destinations across the U.S., though most are concentrated in the eastern portion of the country.

Now that the brand has been integrated into Marriott Bonvoy, you can earn and redeem Marriott Bonvoy points for stays.

Cash stays will earn a flat rate of 10 points per dollar spent, and redemption rates vary according to Marriott’s dynamic pricing scheme. All stays, whether paid for in cash or points, will earn 1 elite night per qualifying night stayed. Eligible guests are also entitled to Marriott Bonvoy elite benefits, though understandably, no suite upgrades are available.

Unfortunately, all bookings are subject to a $35 per night “destination amenity fee,” which covers the following according to Traveling for Miles:

  • 3 bundles of firewood with starters
  • A s’mores kit
  • 4 servings each of coffee, tea, and hot chocolate
  • 2 bottles of water
  • Snacks
Hot Tip:

Marriott also recently acquired another brand. Learn all about how you’ll earn points and what elite status benefits will look like at Sonder by Marriott properties.

Final Thoughts

Postcard Cabin properties are available directly through Marriott’s channels. Rates seem to be quite reasonable, whether you decide to pay in cash or points. However, be aware that all bookings are subject to a $35 per night amenity fee.
