Alaska Airlines has opened a brand-new lounge at San Francisco International Airport’s (SFO) Harvey Milk Terminal 1.

There’s a lot to cover, so let’s dive right in!

Introducing the Brand New Alaska Lounge at SFO

The new Alaska Lounge at SFO joins a competitive lounge scene at Terminal 1, which also includes the American Airlines Admirals Club and The Club SFO lounges. However, a more spacious Alaska Lounge at SFO (a major hub for the airline) was sorely needed, and the Terminal 1 location across from gate B6 is 55% larger than the airline’s previous Terminal 2 location.

Guests will have access to complimentary drinks, snacks, and food — including a made-to-order pancake machine for breakfast lovers. The lounge is open from 5 a.m. to 10:30 p.m.

The 11,000-square-foot Alaska Lounge has plug-in outlets for charging devices at nearly every seat, meeting spaces, a bar, and loungers for relaxation.

“Today’s unveiling of our elegantly designed Lounge at SFO represents the culmination of over two years of dedicated commitment to enhance the way we care for our guests,” said Sangita Woerner, senior vice president of marketing and guest experience at Alaska Airlines. “Our lounges redefine the premium travel experience, providing top-tier amenities and ample space to escape the hustle and bustle of the airport, whether you’re traveling with Alaska or our Oneworld and global airline partners.”

Bottom Line:

This is part of Alaska’s larger plan — to the tune of $3 billion — to upgrade its infrastructure and guest experience at its major West Coast hubs.

Getting Into the Alaska Lounge

Alaska has a modest lounge network, mainly on the West Coast. Alaska Lounges are in the following cities: Anchorage (ANC), New York (JFK), Portland (PDX), San Francisco, and Seattle (SEA).

Alaska Lounges are known to be some of the best domestic lounges out there. Each lounge offers amenities such as food and beverages (including alcohol), spaces to work and relax, and more.

Final Thoughts

A new lounge is always welcome news, especially at a busy airport such as SFO. At 11,000 square feet, the new Alaska Lounge is stunning, offering premium amenities and quality dining. Now that it’s open, we can’t wait to check it out!
