Delta introduced its Delta One Suites product back in 2017 on its then-new Airbus A350-900 aircraft. Since then, its primary U.S. competitors, American Airlines and United Airlines, have had time to introduce new business class suite products of their own, which some believe have leapfrogged Delta, at least in certain respects.

Now, it’s Delta’s turn, with the airline announcing a brand-new product set to debut in 2027 on its upcoming Airbus A350-1000 aircraft.

Here’s everything you need to know.

Brand-New Delta One Suites Coming in 2027

Delta Air Lines has lifted the curtain on its next-generation Delta One Suites product. It was the first U.S. carrier to introduce a suites product in the business class cabin in 2017, and now, after a “2-year intentional design process and a decade of data from customers and employees alike,” it’s showing off a brand-new product.

The new Delta One Suites will be introduced on new Airbus A350-1000 aircraft starting in early 2027, 10 years after the original product debuted. The carrier says this aircraft will be its most premium to date, with 50% of all seats classified as premium.

Delta says it relied on “[m]onths of research and feedback with SkyMiles members and Delta people” to help guide its vision for the new Delta One Suites together with Thompson Aero Seating.

Each new suite has a closing privacy door and a seat that reclines into a fully flat position. The airline says, however, that it’s added 3 inches to the surface when the seat is in bed mode, giving each passenger up to 6.5 feet of length to get comfortable.

The seats themselves have been redesigned with a pillow-top cushion layer on top of the memory foam, and each suite includes helpful storage solutions, such as a dedicated shoe cubby, a tray designed for phones that’s within easy reach of the seat when in lie-flat mode, and an eyeglass hook.

The new Delta One Suites product will feature the airline’s largest-ever inflight entertainment screens, measuring in at 24 inches. The airline says these will deliver a “cinema-quality” viewing experience with QLED 4K resolution.

As is standard for new products, each suite will include Bluetooth connectivity and wireless charging. Additionally, all suites will have USB-C and AC power, mood lighting, a reading lamp, and smart-looking stone inlays.

Delta will also introduce an onboard snack bar, located at the main entryway on the A350-1000. Cabin crew will set up the area with a variety of sweet and savory snacks and refreshments for Delta One passengers to choose from whenever they please throughout the flight.

Finally, Delta designed features with accessibility in mind, including tactile seat controls inspired by a luxury car and even a dedicated accessible lavatory on each of the new A350-1000s.

While we don’t yet know how many Delta One Suites will be on the new A350-1000s, we do know they’ll be arranged in a reverse-herringbone 1-2-1 configuration, with suites facing outward at the windows and center seats facing each other, though each pair of seats will have a privacy divider.

Interestingly, Delta makes no mention of a “business class plus” concept, as American and United have introduced recently. That doesn’t necessarily mean it’s not happening, but the airline didn’t share any news surrounding that in today’s press release.

Upgrades Coming to Premium Economy and Coach, Too

Delta One passengers won’t be the only ones who notice an upgrade on board the A350-1000 aircraft. Seats in the Premium Select cabin get memory foam cushions, 16-inch, Bluetooth-enabled 4K QLED entertainment screens, USB-C and AC power, smarter storage, and more.

In economy, the seats have been redesigned with memory foam cushions, larger, 13-inch 4K entertainment screens, a new seatback shelf to keep personal items close, and USB-C and AC power. Plus, the new seat design gives each seat 1 additional inch of legroom.

Delta’s Old A330s Finally Getting Some Love

In addition to the brand-new Delta One Suites product debuting on the Airbus A350-1000, Delta says its existing A330-300 and -200 aircraft will receive a “nose-to-tail” retrofit that includes Delta One Suites with sliding privacy doors, though the product will look a bit different from that on the A350-1000.

Regardless of the specific product Delta will install, it is fantastic news for flyers, as these A330s currently feature one of the carrier’s oldest business class products, which many regard as uncompetitive in today’s market.

And just like the A350-1000, the A330s will also get the new onboard snack bar (located at the front of the aircraft on this type) and accessibility features, including the dedicated accessible lavatory.

Together, the new Delta One Suites and the much-needed improvements to the A330-300/200 fleet represent more than $1 billion in investment from the carrier.

Final Thoughts

After being left out of the new-product buzz for quite some time, Delta is back in the limelight with its brand-new Delta One Suites product. We won’t have to wait too long to see these new suites in the flesh, since they’ll be introduced with the brand-new Airbus A350-1000 in early 2027.

Needless to say, we can’t wait to get on board and give the new suites a proper test.
