Frontier Launches Flights to 2 Caribbean Islands From Tampa

There’s a new ultra-low-cost way to get to Montego Bay (MBJ) and San Juan (SJU). 

Frontier Airlines has launched 2 new routes from Tampa (TPA) to the islands of Jamaica and Puerto Rico in the Caribbean.

“Frontier is excited to add these two popular Caribbean islands to our route map from Tampa, making it affordable and convenient for area residents to enjoy these highly desirable vacation destinations,” said Daniel Shurz, Senior Vice President of Commercial at Frontier Airlines.

Frontier Launches 2 New Caribbean Routes

To celebrate the launch of the new routes, Frontier is offering introductory one-way fares through the airline’s website of $99 for San Juan (SJU) and $89 for Montego Bay (MBJ).

You have until June 30, 2022, to make your purchases that must be for travel on select days between July 6 and 31 August 31, 2022.

Frontier’s arrival in Jamaica and Puerto Rico from Tampa (TPA) mark Frontier’s first Caribbean island destinations from the Floridian city and are part of Frontier’s continued growth at the airport.

“We continue to grow our commitment to serving the Greater Tampa Bay area and currently fly to 25 destinations from TPA, offering expanded options for consumers to take advantage of our ‘Low Fares Done Right’,” said Shurz.

The year-round service is scheduled to operate daily, and the schedule varies depending on the day of the week. Passengers can expect an afternoon departure from Tampa (TPA) and a morning departure from San Juan (SJU) on the return leg.

Frontier will come up against stiff competition on this popular route, with JetBlue, Southwest, and Spirit all operating the route at various points throughout the year.

Tampa (TPA) to Montego Bay (MBJ)

As for Montego Bay (MBJ), the all-new nonstop service launched from Tampa (TPA) on June 24, 2022, and is currently bookable through September 5, 2022, on Mondays and Fridays.

Once again, the schedule for the flights varies depending on the day of the week.

Frontier will be the only airline offering nonstop service from Tampa (TPA) to Montego Bay (MBJ).
