IHG plans to unveil 2 properties in Hungary, which will also mark the debut of the Hotel Indigo and Holiday Inn Express brands in the country.

Signed at the real estate trade fair EXPO Real 2023, Hotel Indigo Budapest Andrassy and Holiday Inn Express Vagohid will join the IHG lineup starting in 2027.

Here’s what you should know about these properties.

New IHG Hotels in Hungary

On October 4, 2023, IHG announced the addition of 2 properties to its portfolio in partnership with WING, a leading property development group in Central Europe: Hotel Indigo Budapest Andrassy and Holiday Inn Express Vagohid.

Set to open in mid-2028, Hotel Indigo Budapest Andrassy will feature 103 guest rooms, a bar, and a restaurant. The property will have a prime location on the tree-lined Andrassy Avenue, the Hungarian capital’s preeminent thoroughfare. In addition, Holiday Inn Express Vagohid is set to open in early 2027 in the city’s District Nine neighborhood with 162 guest rooms.

“We are thrilled to partner with WING to bring Hotel Indigo and Holiday Inn Express to the country, through these distinct and exciting properties,” said Willemijn Geels, VP Development, Europe, IHG Hotels & Resorts. “These signings show the confidence of owners in our brands and their popularity with guests around the world who will soon be welcomed to this energetic and historic capital city in our hotels.”

How To Book

While these 2 IHG Budapest properties aren’t yet bookable, they are expected to participate in the IHG One Rewards program once they open.

Meanwhile, you can earn and redeem IHG One Rewards points for stays at IHG’s other properties in the city. IHG offers 2 personal and 1 business credit card, all of which are issued by Chase. Additionally, you can transfer Chase Ultimate Rewards or Bilt Rewards points to IHG One Rewards at a 1:1 ratio.

IHG currently has 4 hotels in Hungary, including the Crowne Plaza Budapest, which opened in 2021. Kimpton Budapest is also in the pipeline for development.

Final Thoughts
