This summer, a brand-new InterContinental Hotels & Resorts property will open in Monterrey, Mexico.

Here’s what you need to know about this new hotel!

Sixth InterContinental Hotel in Mexico Opening Soon

Presidente InterContinental Monterrey will soon become IHG’s newest InterContinental hotel in Mexico.

The luxe hotel will have 293 guest rooms and suites and will serve business and leisure travelers alike.

Amenities will include a pool, a spa, a business center, 2 restaurants and a bar, and more than 25,000 square feet of meeting and event space. The hotel will also be pet-friendly and offer valet parking.

The hotel is expected to open for guests in the summer of 2024. Though there is a website for the hotel, IHG has not mentioned an opening date for the property. Additionally, we don’t yet know how much the property will cost with cash or IHG One Rewards points. We will update this post when we have more information.

This will become IHG’s sixth InterContinental hotel in Mexico and will join properties in Cancún, Cozumel, Guadalajara, Mexico City, and Puebla.

Bottom Line:

Monterrey is the capital of the Mexican state Nuevo León and is a major financial hub in the country. The city’s airport, Monterrey International Airport (MTY), offers nonstop flights to several U.S. cities like Atlanta (ATL), Chicago (ORD), and Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW).

About InterContinental Hotels & Resorts

InterContinental Hotels & Resorts is IHG Hotels & Resorts‘ flagship brand.

Known as the world’s first international luxury hotel brand, InterContinental traces its history back to its first hotel in Belém, Brazil, in 1946. Today, the brand is synonymous with luxury. At each InterContinental hotel, you’ll be greeted with a laser-like focus on high-quality dining, luxury room offerings, and more. There are more than 220 InterContinentals open around the world — usually found in major cities like New York, Washington, D.C., and Dubai — and more than 100 in the pipeline.

Like other IHG brands, InterContinental participates in the IHG One Rewards program. That means you can earn and redeem IHG One Rewards points — and InterContinental properties are some of the best ways to redeem points.

IHG One Rewards points are pretty easy to earn, especially if you have a co-branded IHG One Rewards credit card. Even if you don’t, you can transfer Chase Ultimate Rewards or Bilt Rewards points to IHG One Rewards at a 1:1 ratio.

Final Thoughts

InterContinental is all in on Mexico, evidenced by the brand opening its sixth hotel in the country this summer. While we don’t know much about the hotel, now’s a great time to earn IHG points before the hotel opens!
