Emirates is expanding its partnership with flydubai, letting passengers redeem Emirates Skywards miles on flights with flydubai.

“Starting today, members can use their Skywards miles for Classic Rewards on all flydubai flights, accessing a network of more than 130 destinations served by the carrier,” said Dr Nejib Ben Khedher, divisional senior vice president at Emirates Skywards.

Here are the details.

Redeeming Emirates Skywards Miles With flydubai

Emirates Skywards members now have access to Classic Rewards (the name Emirates gives to its miles redemptions) across flydubai’s network of 130 destinations, including 97 destinations that Emirates doesn’t fly to.

This opens up a whole new world of travel opportunities for Skywards members, such as Salalah (SLL) on the southern coast of Oman, Almaty (ALA) and Astana (NQZ) in Kazakhstan, and Neom (NUM) — the headline new tourist destination being built out of the sand in Saudi Arabia.

Classic Rewards start at just 5,000 miles on some of flydubai’s shorter routes.

After logging in to my Classic Rewards account to research examples, it seems that it’s still only possible to search for destinations that Emirates flies to. This is despite the information in Emirates’ press release stating that flydubai redemptions are possible as of April 29, 2025.

We reached out to Emirates to ask when flydubai’s destinations will be loaded into the Skywards system. We’ll update this article once we find out.

Hot Tip:

Even if you don’t fly Emirates often, there are plenty of ways to earn Emirates Skywards miles.

What It’s Like Flying Flydubai

Like Emirates, flydubai operates out of Dubai’s main international airport (airport code DXB). This streamlines the process for passengers connecting between the 2 airlines.

The airline offers both economy and business-class cabins. However, the seats in business class vary depending on the aircraft you fly, so check the seatmap when booking.

The seats to avoid, if possible, are the recliner seats on its non-MAX variants of the Boeing 737. The MAX jets, on the other hand, boast lie-flat business class seats.

Business-class cabin configuration varies even on flydubai’s MAX aircraft. Some aircraft have cabins in a 2-2 layout, while others feature a more premium cabin with 1 row of so-called “throne seats” in a 1-1 layout.

Final Thoughts

Emirates Skywards members can now redeem Classic Rewards to 93 new destinations, thanks to the airline’s expanded partnership with flydubai.

flydubai’s network is a great addition to the world of miles redemptions, as it opens up a world of off-the-beaten-track places to explore.
