Update:The offer mentioned below has expired and is no longer available.

Amex and restaurant reservation platform Resy are launching a diner promotion this August in several major U.S. cities. A select number of meals at 25 local establishments will be comped by Resy, up to $99 per person.

If you can’t snag a reservation (ahem, Resy) at one of these neighborhood joints, Amex cardholders can take advantage of an Amex Offer — $15 off when you spend $60 or more in a single purchase at select Resy restaurants (up to 2x) by August 31, 2023.

Here’s everything you need to know about this 2-pronged promo.

Resy’s “Pick Up the Check” Offer: Up to $99

The new “Resy Tastemakers” promotion aims to uplift independently-owned restaurants by encouraging casual diners to become regulars at their local eateries. Diners in the following cities will be able to take part in the chance to get a free meal, up to $99, from Resy:

  • Chicago
  • Los Angeles
  • Miami
  • New York City
  • San Francisco
  • Washington, D.C.

The first reservation drop for the Tastemakers program will open on Monday, August 7 at 10 a.m. local time, and continue every Monday in August, for the weekly Wednesday night dinner reservations throughout the month (August 9, 16, 23, and 30).

The following is the list of restaurants and the dates for each dinner:

Reservations for these weekly Wednesday events are open for anyone to register to get their check picked up, up to $99 per person (up to 6 people per table) on Resy.com/shopsmall or the Resy app

Amex Cardholder Offer

While the above promo will be somewhat limited (and only for those with fast fingers), there’s a more widespread offer for Amex cardholders.

Starting August 1, 2023, eligible American Express card members can enroll in an offer to redeem a $15 statement credit when they spend $60 or more in a single purchase at select Resy restaurants (up to 2x) by August 31, 2023, at 200 select Resy restaurants around the country. Enrollment is required.

Hot Tip:

Check out our complete guides to Amex Offers and the Resy benefits with select Amex cards.

Most Amex products should qualify, from cash-back cards (like the Blue Cash Preferred® Card from American Express) to Membership Rewards-earning cards (like the American Express® Gold Card) to co-branded cards (like the Delta SkyMiles® Gold American Express Card).

Final Thoughts

Amex, which acquired Resy in 2019, continues to integrate the online restaurant reservation platform with the Amex cardholder experience. This time, Resy is offering a chance to get a comped meal at 25 U.S. restaurants, up to $99, for any Resy customer. On top of that, Amex cardholders can take advantage of a new Amex Offer.
