The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection just debuted its second ship, Ilma, on a 7-night journey from Monte Carlo to Rome. This new yacht features innovative designs, luxurious suites, and first-class amenities on sailings through the Mediterranean and the Caribbean.

The Ritz-Carlton name is no stranger to the luxury hospitality industry. While it may be more synonymous with luxury hotels, the second ship in The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection proves it’s a powerhouse in the luxury cruise industry as well.

Let’s dive into the details of this new luxury yacht.

Ilma Is The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection’s Second Ship

Ilma, the second yacht from The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection, just debuted in Europe. This luxury cruise line’s first ship, Evrima, has been sailing since October of 2022.

This new 790-foot yacht features 224 expansive suites, all with private balconies, for up to 448 guests. For its first season, Ilma will sail the Mediterranean, stopping at intimate ports, including Porto Cervo, Valletta, and Monte Carlo, before moving to the Caribbean. Then, this will be The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection’s first ship to sail through Northern Europe during the summer of 2025.

Hot Tip:

The brand’s third ship, Luminara, which is set to debut in 2025, will offer 10- to 15-night trips through the Asia-Pacific region.

Ilma brings the exceptional luxury accommodations and personalized service for which The Ritz-Carlton brand is renowned to the sea, further redefining the standards in the luxury industry,” said Jenni Benzaquen, senior vice president of The Ritz-Carlton, St. Regis, and Bvlgari Hotels and Resorts.

Ilma has 5 dining venues (including 2 by Michelin-starred chefs), 7 bars, an in-room dining program, and a wine vault. Seta su Ilma is a fine-dining restaurant serving modern Italian cuisine by Chef Fabio Trabocchi. The Beach House features a menu of South- and Central American-inspired dishes designed in collaboration with James Beard Award-winning chef Michael Mina. Memorī serves Pan-Asian cuisine, Mistral serves Mediterranean cuisine by the main pool, and Tides serves a seasonal menu that changes based on Ilma’s location.

The Living Room is a central space that serves coffee and pastries in the morning and transitions to cocktails and live music in the evenings.

Additional amenities include the Marina and Marina Terrace, which features a hydraulic platform that connects guests to the sea while anchored, Deck 10 — the ship’s main pool area — a fitness center, and The Ritz-Carlton Spa, which offers both indoor and outdoor treatments.

Bottom Line:

The second ship from The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection just debuted; Ilma will sail the Mediterranean and the Caribbean this year before moving to Northern Europe in 2025. A third yacht, Luminara, is scheduled to debut in 2025.

The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection and Marriott Bonvoy

The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection participates in the Marriott Bonvoy program, which means guests can earn or redeem Marriott points, and nights at sea count toward Marriott elite status.

Marriott members earn 5 points per $1 spent on Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection sailings. Marriott points also can be used for discounts on sailings. You can redeem 180,000 points for a $1,000 discount. After that, increments of 90,000 points can be redeemed for a $500 discount. That results in a value of 0.56 cents per point, which is less than the 0.7 value we assign to Marriott points. However, it could still be a good deal if a luxury yacht cruise is on your travel wish list.

You can earn Marriott points by staying at Marriott hotels, using Marriott credit cards, or transferring points from Chase Ultimate Rewards, American Express Membership Rewards, or Bilt Rewards.

Final Thoughts

Ilma, the second yacht from The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection, just debuted. This new ship combines luxury amenities and innovative design with immersive itineraries and The Ritz-Carlton’s signature service. Marriott Bonvoy members can earn or use points on The Ritz-Carolton Yacht Collection sailings.
