A new luxury Marriott hotel has opened in the exciting city of Istanbul, Türkiye.

Here’s what you need to know about the hotel — and how to book it with Marriott Bonvoy points.

Istanbul’s First Luxury Collection Hotel

Sanasaryan Han, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Istanbul has 63 guest rooms and suites, with the latter offering prime views of the city.

The hotel is located within a building constructed in the late 1800s and has undergone a major renovation. Guests will have access to a library, a meeting room, and several food and drink options. The hotel is near major cultural landmarks like the Spice Bazaar, the Grand Bazaar, and the Blue Mosque.

Marriott noted Istanbul’s status as an “international hub for both commerce and culture,” making the city the perfect fit for a Luxury Collection property.

“Sanasaryan Han, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Istanbul, marks a fitting entrance for our esteemed collection, encapsulating the essence of this historic city and embodying the adventurous spirit of global explorers through dynamic design and curated experiences,” said Philipp Weghmann, Vice President and Global Brand Leader of The Luxury Collection.

Bottom Line:

If you aren’t familiar, the Luxury Collection is one of Marriott’s premier brands. With more than 110 hotels in 40 countries and territories, the brand emphasizes unique, authentic experiences. While this is Marriott’s first Luxury Collection hotel in Istanbul, the chain has nearly 3 dozen hotels across several brands in the city.

Booking Sanasaryan Han With Marriott Bonvoy Points

Sanasaryan Han is officially open for guests. The hotel participates in the Marriott Bonvoy program, which means you can earn and redeem points here.

Cash rates for a 1-night stay start at around $440 per night (on the low end) this summer and average around $500 per night.

Award rates are also pretty cheap for a Luxury Collection hotel. For May and June, award stays start at just 39,000 Marriott Bonvoy points per night. (Marriott no longer uses an award chart, so prices can vary.) Still, given the high cash rates, you’re better off redeeming Marriott Bonvoy points to stay at this property.

Marriott Bonvoy points are incredibly easy to earn. You can transfer American Express Membership Rewards and Chase Ultimate Rewards points to Marriott at a 1:1 ratio or open 1 of the best Marriott Bonvoy credit cards. These cards come with big welcome bonus offers and Marriott Bonvoy elite status.

Final Thoughts

Marriott’s first Luxury Collection hotel in Istanbul certainly made a splash with its opening in such a historic building. With affordable rates for award stays, Sanasaryan Han is sure to be a sweet spot for Marriott Bonvoy travelers visiting Türkiye!
