Marriott’s new Series by Marriott brand has made its debut in the United States, with 2 converted hotels from FOUND Hotels opening in Florida and California.

Let’s take a look.

Series by Marriott Lands in the U.S.

Marriott has opened 2 Series by Marriott hotels in Miami Beach and Santa Monica, giving guests new, affordable options in those cities.

FOUND Miami Beach, Series by Marriott, keeps to Miami’s art deco aesthetic. The historic hotel underwent extensive updates and features new guest rooms, a remodeled pool and lobby, and additional enhancements. Amenities include an Italian-American restaurant and bar, as well as a pool terrace. The 76-room hotel offers a variety of room configurations, including king beds and bunk beds.

As one of the most affordable hotels in Miami Beach, you’ll find rooms as low as $120 per night or from 41,000 Marriott Bonvoy points per night.

FOUND Santa Monica, Series by Marriott features 88 guest rooms and is located near the beach and the Santa Monica Pier.

Like FOUND Miami Beach, Marriott made significant renovations, updating guest rooms and public spaces. Amenities include on-site parking and a signature restaurant. You’ll find rates from $140 per night or 40,000 points per night.

Hot Tip:

Marriott Bonvoy points are among the easiest hotel points to earn. American Express Membership Rewards, Bilt Rewards, and Chase Ultimate Rewards all transfer to Marriott Bonvoy at a 1:1 ratio. Plus, you can open one of the best Marriott Bonvoy credit cards, which come with huge welcome bonus offers and elite status.

About Series by Marriott

Marriott announced its Series by Marriott brand in May, with initial plans to convert over 80 midscale and upscale properties in India. The U.S. expansion plan was kick-started with plans to reflag existing FOUND Hotels in Miami, Santa Monica, San Francisco, Chicago, and San Diego. The brand has ambitious plans to expand in the Caribbean, Latin America, Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.

The announcement of a new, affordable brand is always good news. But there were some pretty disappointing updates from Series by Marriott earlier this fall, as we previously reported. While Marriott Bonvoy members earn rewards on their stays, they do so at half the rate of most Marriott brands.

That means that you’ll earn just 5 points per $1 spent at Series by Marriott properties (half the rate of the typical 10x) and 1 elite night credit for every 2 nights stayed (half the rate of the usual 1 elite night for every night stayed).

Final Thoughts

Marriott has opened its first Series by Marriott hotels in the U.S. They’re both pretty affordable with cash and points, which is great news considering how pricey Miami and Santa Monica can be. Plus, you can use a Marriott free night award on lower-priced stays!
