There’s a new way to convert points from one program into another. While expanded options for using your points can sometimes be great, the ability to turn your Singapore Airlines miles into ALL – Accor Live Limitless points probably isn’t worth it for most people.

Let’s take a look at this new capability and why we don’t ultimately recommend it.

How To Convert Between Singapore KrisFlyer and ALL – Accor Live Limitless

There’s been a partnership between Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer and ALL – Accor Live Limitless for a while now. That’s not new.

In fact, you’ve been able to covert ALL Reward points to Singapore KrisFlyer miles well before today. You can convert 2,000 ALL Reward points to 1,000 KrisFlyer miles.

What’s new, however, is that transfers are now possible in both directions. You can now turn 4,500 KrisFlyer miles into 1,000 ALL Reward points. Conversions are possible from the partnership page here.

Conversions from Accor must be done in 2,000-point increments. Conversions from Singapore Airlines are done in 4,500-mile increments. Note that transfers from Singapore to Accor are only available between 6 a.m. and 11:59 p.m. daily in Singapore’s local time (GMT+8). You can convert a maximum of 180,000 KrisFlyer miles to ALL Reward points annually.

Is It Worth It?

Let’s crunch the numbers to see why this isn’t a good use of your rewards.

We value Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer miles at 1.35 cents apiece and ALL Reward points at 2.3 cents apiece.

Using those numbers, 4,500 KrisFlyer miles are worth $60.75. You would exchange those for $23 worth of ALL Reward points — a significant loss of value.

What about converting in the other direction? 2,000 ALL Reward points are worth $46, and you could turn those into $13.50 worth of airline miles. This also represents a loss during the transfer.

There are 2 situations in which it could make sense to use these conversions. The first is if you need just a few more points or miles for a redemption and have exhausted other sources of earning KrisFlyer miles or earning ALL Reward points. The second is if you have stranded points in one of these accounts, they’re about to expire, and you want to use them for something before losing them.

Bottom Line:

For most people — and in most situations — these conversions won’t make sense.

Final Thoughts

You’ve been able to convert ALL Reward points to Singapore Airlines miles for a while now, but an update permits transfers in both directions. For most people, transfers in either direction won’t make sense.
