SkyTeam flyers with Elite Plus status have a reason to celebrate. Since April 2025, the global airline alliance has been expanding domestic lounge access for its top-tier customers — and today, more than 70 lounges worldwide are part of the program.

Here’s what you need to know.

SkyTeam Adds More Domestic Lounge Access for Elite Plus Members

Participating airlines include Aeromexico, Air France, China Eastern, Garuda Indonesia, Kenya Airways, KLM, Korean Air, SAS, Saudia, Vietnam Airlines, and Xiamen Airlines, giving travelers access to a wider network of domestic lounges.

Amenities vary by location, but most airport lounges offer comfortable seating, complimentary snacks and beverages, fast Wi-Fi, and quiet spaces to work or relax, making short domestic flights feel more premium.

The benefit is most noticeable in China, where 32 lounges operated by China Eastern and Xiamen Airlines now welcome Elite Plus members. In the U.S., travelers can find more than 10 lounges across major airports like Los Angeles (LAX), San Francisco (SFO), and Washington-Dulles (IAD). These include lounges from Air France, KLM, Korean Air, and SAS.

Access stretches from Monterrey, Mexico, to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and Bali, Indonesia, giving Elite Plus travelers more flexibility and comfort on short-haul flights. Previously, domestic lounge access for SkyTeam elites was limited, so this expansion is a meaningful upgrade, particularly for business travelers or those connecting through multiple domestic airports.

SkyTeam recommends checking lounge locations, operating hours, and access policies in advance, as these can vary by airport. The alliance also confirmed plans to add even more lounges in the future, signaling a continued commitment to improving the domestic travel experience for loyal customers.

Hot Tip:

Delta flyers, take note: Delta SkyMiles Elite Plus members (Diamond, Platinum, and Gold Medallion) do not get Sky Club access under this rule when flying domestically. However, they can still access other SkyTeam-operated or SkyTeam-branded lounges if eligible.

Final Thoughts

SkyTeam’s move to expand lounge access for Elite Plus members brings it closer in line with Oneworld and Star Alliance, which already extend these perks on domestic flights. While the U.S. still has limits — Delta Sky Clubs are excluded — the addition of over 70 lounges worldwide makes holding Elite Plus status even more rewarding.

For frequent travelers, this change means that short domestic hops can now start with a more comfortable and premium airport experience.
