Southwest Airlines is offering 30% off base fares when you book tickets by April 7, 2025.

With this offer, you can travel throughout spring and through the summer, which can help you book the summer vacation your family has been dreaming about. That said, there are some restrictions on when you can fly.

Here’s everything you need to know about Southwest’s latest sale.

Southwest Sale: Up to 30% off Flights

To save with promo code TAKE30, you must book by April 7 and at least 21 days before departure. You can apply this promo code when you search on Southwest’s website or from the promotion’s landing page.

This sale gives you up to a 30% discount on Southwest flights, and the eligible travel dates vary by destination:

  • Travel within the continental U.S. between April 22 and August 27, 2025.
  • Interisland Hawaiian flights between April 22 and June 3, 2025.
  • Travel to or from Hawaii, Puerto Rico, and international destinations from August 17 to October 3, 2025.

You’ll also need to mind this blackout date:

  • June 26, 2025, for travel in the continental U.S.

The sale only applies to flights booked directly with Southwest. Here are a few more terms you should be aware of:

  • You must apply promo code TAKE30 to get the discount.
  • Sale prices apply to Wanna Get Away and Wanna Get Away Plus fares.
  • Valid on one-way or round-trip itineraries.
  • Any changes to an itinerary after purchase will eliminate qualifications for this promotion and result in the forfeiture of any promo code’s savings.
  • Seats, days, and markets are limited.
  • Flights are non-refundable.
  • Link to offer.

Here’s an example of a discounted ticket from Orange County (SNA) to Las Vegas (LAS) that you can book for as low as $79 with this sale:

Remember, Southwest has an easy-to-use Low Fare Calendar to help you find the cheapest dates when your travel plans are flexible.

This sale also applies to bookings made with Southwest Rapid Rewards points. Unfortunately, you won’t get outsized value — expect to get around 1.33 cents per point from your Rapid Rewards points.

Using one of Southwest’s co-branded credit cards to pay for your tickets, you could earn 2 to 4 Rapid Rewards points per dollar spent on your Southwest purchases. These cards also have other perks like anniversary bonus points every cardmember year, EarlyBird Check-In certificates, and more.

Hot Tip:

Southwest has a flexible change and cancellation policy. This sale doesn’t apply to existing bookings, so if you find your same flight is now available at a lower price, you can book it and cancel your existing reservation. Here’s how to change or cancel a Southwest flight.

Final Thoughts

Southwest has a flash sale offering 30% off the base fare on select flights. There are blackout dates, and eligible travel dates vary depending on where you fly. However, if you book by April 7, you might be able to find a nice discount on your summer travel.

These tickets will qualify for Southwest’s existing baggage rules before the airline reduces the checked luggage allowance and makes other changes at the end of May. That’s because those changes will only apply to tickets booked after May 28 — after the booking period for this sale has ended.
