Southwest Airlines has announced some new perks to look forward to. All passengers will soon be eligible for free same-day standby and some passengers will get free inflight Wi-Fi.

Here are the details.

Southwest Is Adding Free Standby and Free Wi-Fi

Southwest announced that all passengers, including those who purchase the least expensive Wanna Get Away fares, will soon be eligible for free same-day standby. Currently, this feature is only available to passengers who purchase Wanna Get Away Plus, Anytime, and Business Select Fares.

In addition to that, passengers who purchase a Business Select fare (which also comes with perks like upgraded A1-A15 boarding) will soon get complimentary inflight Wi-Fi. It currently costs $8 per device per flight, so this will be a great perk for those who enjoy Wi-Fi during their flight.

If you’d rather not spring for the highest-priced Business Select fare but would still like free Wi-Fi, consider the Southwest Rapid Rewards® Performance Business Credit Card which comes with up to 365 Wi-Fi credits each year.

These 2 new changes are coming soon, however, Southwest has yet to give a specific date.

Hot Tip:

Southwest does not charge change or cancellation fees — learn more about these policies in our detailed guide.
