Southwest is making a bigger commitment to two of its biggest markets.

Southwest Airlines just announced a major expansion at both Las Vegas (LAS) and Orlando (MCO), Florida, adding dozens of new and expanded routes rolling out between spring 2026 and spring 2027.

Here are the key new routes and expanded services you’ll want to know about.

Southwest Adds New Routes and Expands Service From LAS and MCO

This is a big expansion. Southwest Airlines is adding or boosting service on 26 routes from Las Vegas (LAS) and 23 from Orlando (MCO), with a mix of brand-new destinations and more flights on routes it already serves.

New Nonstop Routes From Las Vegas (LAS)

The expansion in Las Vegas (LAS) is already underway, with new nonstop routes that kicked off in April 2026 and more on the way through 2027.

The airline has already launched — or will soon begin — service from Las Vegas to the following destinations:

  • Santa Rosa (STS), California: Starts April 14, 2026
  • Anchorage (ANC), Alaska: Starts May 14, 2026
  • Cancun (CUN), Mexico: Starts June 6, 2026
  • San José del Cabo (SJD), Mexico: Starts June 6, 2026
  • Hilo (ITO), Hawaii: Starts August 4, 2026
  • Puerto Vallarta (PVR), Mexico: Starts October 4, 2026
  • San José, Costa Rica (SJO): Starts October 4, 2026

Looking ahead to 2027, Southwest also plans to add service from Las Vegas to:

Beyond brand-new routes, Southwest is also increasing frequency on several existing Las Vegas routes, including:

This combination of new routes and added frequencies will help push Las Vegas to a record number of daily Southwest departures by 2027.

New Nonstop Routes From Orlando (MCO)

Southwest is expanding service from Orlando (MCO) with a mix of new nonstop routes already underway and additional launches continuing through early 2027.

Here are the new destinations Southwest has added or plans to launch from Orlando:

  • St. Thomas (STT), U.S. Virgin Islands: Starts February 5, 2026
  • Knoxville (TYS), Tennessee: Starts March 5, 2026
  • St. Martin (SXM): Starts April 9, 2026
  • Little Rock (LIT), Arkansas: Starts June 4, 2026
  • Wichita (ICT), Kansas: Starts June 4, 2026
  • San Jose (SJC), California: Starts November 5, 2026

In addition to these new routes, Southwest is also increasing frequency on several existing Orlando routes, including:

By 2027, Southwest expects to operate more than 200 daily departures from Orlando, making it one of the airline’s largest operations systemwide.

Final Thoughts

Southwest is coming in strong here, doubling down on both Las Vegas and Orlando in a big way.

Between the new routes and added frequencies, both airports are clearly becoming even bigger hubs for the airline. For you, that just means more ways to get in and out, with better timing and more nonstop flights.

If you already fly Southwest, you’ll likely feel these changes the next time you search for flights.
