If you’ve been on the fence about picking up a Southwest Rapid Rewards credit card, now could be a great time to apply.

The Southwest Rapid Rewards® Priority Credit Card, Southwest Rapid Rewards® Premier Credit Card, and Southwest Rapid Rewards® Plus Credit Card are all carrying elevated welcome bonus offers right now — offering up to 90,000 points depending on which card you go with.

These offers are only available through July 1, 2026, so here’s everything you need to know while they’re available.

Southwest Welcome Offers for up to 90,000 Points

Each of the 3 personal Southwest Airlines cards is running its own distinct offer right now, valid May 28 through July 1, 2026:

  • Southwest Priority card: Earn 90,000 bonus points after spending $3,000 on purchases in the first 3 months from account opening.
  • Southwest Premier card: Earn 85,000 bonus points after spending $2,000 on purchases in the first 3 months from account opening.
  • Southwest Plus card: Earn 80,000 bonus points after spending $1,000 on purchases in the first 3 months from account opening.

The previous standard offers provided 50,000 Rapid Rewards points, so even the lowest of these represents a substantial jump. What makes this round especially interesting is that the Southwest Plus card and Southwest Premier card come with lower minimum spending requirements than usual, which lowers the barrier for people who don’t have a big purchase on the horizon.

We value Southwest Rapid Rewards points at 1.3 cents each, which means the 90,000-point offer is worth roughly $1,170, the 85,000-point offer is worth $1,105, and the 80,000-point offer is worth $1,040.

Any of these bonuses also gives you a strong start toward earning the Southwest Companion Pass, which requires 135,000 qualifying points earned in a calendar year. Points earned from credit card welcome offers count toward that threshold, and Southwest cardholders also receive an annual 10,000-point bonus that counts toward Companion Pass qualification.

The Companion Pass lets you bring one designated travel companion on any Southwest flight for nothing more than taxes and fees — costing just $5.60 each way on a domestic ticket. It’s valid for an unlimited number of flights and works on both cash and points bookings, making it one of the most valuable perks in domestic travel.

Overview of Southwest Credit Cards

While the welcome offers differ across the 3 cards, so do their annual fees, earning rates, and perks. Here’s a breakdown of what each card offers so you can figure out which one fits your travel style. Keep in mind that Southwest’s credit cards recently underwent changes, so it’s worth reviewing the current benefits carefully.

Southwest Plus Card

The Southwest Plus card is the entry-level option, carrying a $99 annual fee. Its current benefits include:

  • 3,000 bonus points deposited to your account each anniversary year
  • 2x points on Southwest purchases
  • 2x points at gas stations and grocery stores on up to $5,000 in combined purchases per anniversary year
  • First checked bag free for the primary cardmember and up to 8 passengers sharing the same reservation
  • Option to select a Standard seat within 48 hours of departure, subject to availability
  • 1 point per $1 spent on everything else

Southwest Premier Card

The Southwest Premier card sits in the middle of the lineup with a $149 annual fee and a step up in perks. Benefits include:

  • 6,000 anniversary bonus points each year
  • 3x points on Southwest purchases, including flights, inflight purchases, and Southwest gift cards
  • 2x points at grocery stores and restaurants on up to $8,000 in combined purchases per anniversary year
  • First checked bag free for the cardmember and up to 8 passengers on the same reservation
  • Ability to choose a Standard or Preferred seat within 48 hours of departure, when available
  • Group 5 boarding for the cardmember and up to 8 passengers on the same booking
  • No foreign transaction fees

Southwest Priority Card

The Southwest Priority card is the premium option at $229 per year, but its benefits are designed to offset that cost. Here’s what you get:

  • 7,500 anniversary bonus points each year
  • 4x points on Southwest purchases, including flights, inflight, and Southwest gift cards
  • 2x points at gas stations and restaurants
  • First checked bag free for the cardmember and up to 8 passengers on the same reservation
  • Complimentary Preferred seat selection at the time of booking, when available
  • Group 5 boarding for the cardmember and up to 8 passengers sharing a reservation
  • No foreign transaction fees

Final Thoughts

Whether you’re looking to stock up on Rapid Rewards points, chase the Companion Pass, or simply get more value out of flying Southwest, these are strong offers across the board. The varying spend thresholds are a nice touch, providing welcome bonus offers that match a range of budgets.

The window is narrow, though. All 3 offers are only available through July 1, 2026, so if earning up to 90,000 Rapid Rewards points sounds appealing, it’s worth making a decision soon.
