How To Use Southwest Rapid Rewards Points

Southwest Rapid Rewards points are favorites among travelers who value simplicity. That’s because points can be used for any flight on Southwest Airlines as long as there’s a seat available. The cost of a flight in points is tied to the price in dollars so you’ll always get ~1.3 cents per point in value.

Another perk of Southwest Airlines is the Southwest Companion Pass. This pass essentially allows you to choose a companion to fly with you for just the price of taxes and fees ($5.60 on a one-way domestic flight) for up to 2 years. It’s a great way to get extra value from your Southwest points.

In addition to basic domestic routes, Southwest flies to vacation hotspots like Hawaii and the Caribbean.

Final Thoughts

Southwest Airlines is still trying to win back its loyal fan base after a disastrous 2022 holiday travel season that resulted in massive amounts of flight cancellations.

The airline is hoping this year’s Wanna Get Away Day Sweepstakes, which runs through June 18, 2023, will help. Rapid Rewards members can play games daily to win points and take advantage of daily deals for extra perks and bonuses.
