Spirit Airlines is celebrating its entry into Alabama with the start of nonstop service from Birmingham, Alabama (BHM) to sunny Fort Lauderdale, Florida (FLL).

This is the first time Spirit has operated service in Alabama, and the route began on October 10, 2024, marking the first nonstop link between the 2 destinations.

Spirit Airlines‘ newest route between Birmingham and South Florida began service on October 10, 2024, according to the schedule below:

Depart Fort Lauderdale (FLL) at 11:35 a.m. and arrive in Birmingham (BHM) at 12:20 p.m.
Depart Birmingham (BHM) at 1:15 p.m. and arrive Fort Lauderdale (FLL) at 4 p.m.

An Airbus A320 aircraft with 174 economy seats operates the flight, which has a 1 hour and 45 minute flight time.

In addition to being the airline’s first route from Alabama to South Florida, this new route conveniently offers residents of Alabama’s largest city and surrounding areas 1-stop connections to Latin America and the Caribbean.
