Marriott has inked deals for The St. Regis Qiandao Lake and the AC Hotel by Marriott Qiandao Lake in Zhejiang Province, eastern China.

Here’s what to know about both hotels.

Scheduled To Open in Late 2026

The St. Regis Qiandao Lake will be located at the top of Tianyu Mountain. The resort will have 80 guest rooms and suites, including 36 villas. A presidential villa will offer an outdoor swimming pool and a sun deck.

Amenities at The St. Regis Spa will include a kid’s club, swimming pools, and a fitness room, plus St. Regis signature features like The Drawing Room, St. Regis Bar, and St. Regis Butler service.

The AC Hotel by Marriott Qiandao Lake will have 185 guest rooms and suites. Amenities at this property will include a kids club, fitness center, meeting rooms, and swimming pools.

Both hotels are expected to open for guests in December 2026.

“Bringing St. Regis and AC Hotels by Marriott to Qiandao Lake’s lush forests and rugged landscapes will further cement our footprint in Hangzhou, while providing our guests with access to a destination of relatively undiscovered beauty that awaits exploration,” said Gavin Yu, Chief Development Officer, Greater China at Marriott International.

Booking Marriott Hotels in Hangzhou, China

Marriott has a pretty impressive footprint in Hangzhou, with 20 hotels across 10 brands. These include The Luxury Collection, Four Points by Sheraton, and Moxy Hotels.

If you’re looking for some high-end options in the region to redeem points, you’re in luck. Like many hotels in the region, Marriott’s luxury options are pretty affordable, whether you’re paying cash or using points.

For instance, rates at The Azure Qiantang, which is part of the Luxury Collection brand, start at just $147 or 35,000 Marriott Bonvoy points per night for dates in July 2024.

Marriott Bonvoy points are some of the easiest hotel points you can earn. American Express Membership Rewards and Chase Ultimate Rewards points can be transferred to Marriott at a 1:1 ratio. (Amex and Chase occasionally offer limited-time transfer bonuses, giving you more points for free night redemption.)

You can also open 1 of the many Marriott Bonvoy-branded credit cards. All come with welcome bonuses and elite status, which would significantly increase your points balance and how you earn points.

Final Thoughts

Marriott is bringing 2 very distinct brands to eastern China. The St. Regis is 1 of Marriott’s most luxurious brands, while AC Hotels are known for offering quality amenities at an affordable price. Although these hotels won’t open for another several years, there are still plenty of other Marriott locations in Zhejiang Province where you can use your points.
